2. Ozzy's on now
Metallica's doing a good job as his "backup band". I do have to say that Jackson Browne doesn't look like a 10 year old anymore...we're all getting old!

I didn't know the lead guy could actually sing. I thought it was very generous of him to acknowledge how they had been "schooled" by Ray Davies/Kinks.

Even Metalica, who I don't really like all that much, played behind Ozzy and Lou Reed...

9. I read an opinion piece recently about the 25th anniversary
of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in which the author was dismissive of trying to put the entire genre in a 'museum.' He was equally critical of anyone other than 'youngsters' performing on stage. You know what? That hack writer can smooch my wrinked ass!

P.S. - What, no Ted Nugent? :sarcasm:
This concert belongs to US!

11. Did he name one "youngster" who'd still be around in 20 years?
They might all be gray, wrinkled, and a little chubby, but the youngsters can't hold a candle to any of 'em! Even Jerry Lee Lewis can still do it...although, I was a little nervous for him when he was walking off the stage!

Ted Nugent will be headlining the concert for the Asshole Hall of Fame, which will be broadcast on Fox...

21. Back when the earth was young
rockers even got exposure on primetime variety shows. Later on, there were live-concert shows on late Friday & Saturday nights. By the time Headbanger's Ball hit the scene, concerts on TV were practically extinct.

I believe TV & cable bigwigs just don't think there's enough of a demographic to make it profitable, and that's probably why we don't see concerts on TV anymore. HBO would be the likely venue for a concert series, however, so here's hoping their corporate overlords see fit to take a chance.

about the concert and the whole induction process. They puposely limited the number of people who can be inducted each year, whick isn't very popular with some of those who get to cast a vote.

15. There may emerge some 'contenders' down the line
but I can't think of too many right now. As of this moment, I look for good things to come from Kings of Leon. Also, Deathcab for Cutie may be able to capitalize on Hollywood connections (Zooey Deschanel). There just aren't that many charismatic performers at the moment - ones with unique, stand-out characteristics that makes them 'star material.' Who is gonna make it? We'll find out in the long run. (I can't believe I actually typed that!)

43. I remember seeing the Stones in the Arie Crown Theatre in Chicago 1964.
Back when Brian Jones was alive. The Arie Crown has since burnt down, Brian Jones is dead, but they still epitomize the late sixties, early seventies to me. Their eightes and ninties stuff doesn't nearly rock as much.

Like Bohemian Rhapsody only better..

The characters are vivid, the song is spot on, various melodies competing and finally the final crescendo and then another death that no one cares a shit about. Almost Operatic.

76. I pay 140 bucks a month for full cable and a wireless system for
my home...

I can't go out that much since I am highly susceptible to germs of any kind. My cable and my computer are my links to the world...

When I was younger I would send a comparable amount on movies and bars so I consider this my entertainment budget for the month.

But if you are a self contained entertainment delight, well then I can see why you wouldn't Pay that much for Cable and Computer Internet Access.
