This is a guy who has decided to just go for it. Take everything pop culture and the media have handed him and have the time of his life. I have no doubt he knows his 15 minutes of fame is due to dry up soon but he's decided to milk every last drop from it. If you were stuck in Alaska with no prospects of anything exciting every happening to you, how could anyone begrudge you going for a bit of glitter while you're still young and stupid? I don't know anything about the kind of person he is privately - though I suspect he's not anyone I'd choose to hang around with, he might be pretty horrible actually - but why should he care if he's a punchline? That too will fade in time and what he'll be left with is fun memories.
