PARKLAND, Wash. — A Washington state official says multiple police officers have been shot near McChord Air Force Base.

Pierce County Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer tells KOMO-TV that the officers were hit at the east side of the Air Force base at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

No information was immediately available on the number of officers shot or the extent of their injuries.

The air force base on the other side of my town has apartments, a mall and a ton of shopping centers packed around it. You'll often see huge C17 jets flying at low altitude over the shopping centers.
