They're heeeere...
Edited on Sat Nov-28-09 10:01 PM by me b zola
Now that the health care legislation is winding down, the push against a climate change bill begins. Take a spin in LBN. There are a handful of brand-spanking new climate change deniers here to "educate" us. Ugh.

1. Have they invaded other sites too?
I don't visit many other sites and want to know if they've been spotted elsewhere.

we really should call them on their bs. Otherwise their corporate propaganda goes unchallenged.

19. Oh please! embarrass a Republican?
Being caught tap dancing in men's rooms doesn't embarrass them.
Wearing diapers doesn't embarrass them.
Ronald Ray gun could shit on the sidewalk and they could gather round and picnic on it and it wouldn't embarrass them.

To be embarrassed, you have to have the capacity for shame and empathy. These people are sociopaths who have neither.

45,000,000 of their fellow citizens per year can die without health care and it doesn't embarrass them.

Do you really think my giving them the shame on you finger will change their minds?

One of those "the science isn't in yet" types.

The science was "in" a few decades ago. Long past the time for action.

10. LOL pre-emptive ad hominem?
Give it up Warmers - the truth is out about how this global warming nonsense came to be.

People WILL read those emails and they WILL find out the truth and they WILL find out that you've either been deliberately lying to them or have been embarrassingly willing dupes.

Go ahead, take your shots at us - every time you do, you reveal what you're really about: Politics and control. I'm not afraid of your nonsense, and an increasing number of others are finding the courage to speak out about it as well. The climate con game is over. They, and I, are tired of the endless pumping of this "atheist Rapture", the stream of lies it floats on, and the obscene bill that they are being handed in the service of this new secular religion.

You were all just as certain about DDT - hell, some of you probably still believe that DDT irredeemably poisons the food chain - and it took what, 50 million dead human beings before you admitted you were wrong on DDT? How many will be sacrificed to your fanatical devotion to the demonstrable falsehood known as global warming?

15. ...and the emailers are the only climate scientists on Earth?
Seriously, maybe a dozen people are implicated out of tens of thousands of climate scientists? The deniers act as if these few people represent every single climate scientist on Earth. They're not. Just because one person from your city commits a crime does not mean every citizen of your city is a criminal.

Go ahead, drop the data from this organization. I guarantee you'll find dozens more organizations who can support the same facts with solid science.

20. DDT not harmful? LOL!!!
From Duke University

Even small amounts of DDT can affect small microorganisms. This is especially true for microorganisms that live in the water (i.e. algae, and plankton), because the aquatic environment can bring more DDT in contact with these organisms.

As an example of this high sensitivity, water that contains only 0.1 (g (micrograms) of DDT per liter can slow down growth and photosynthesis in green algae.
Terrestrial Invertebrates (backbone-less creatures that live on land; examples include molluscs and earthworms) are not affected very much by DDT. In fact, they can tolerate a lot of DDT for long periods of time.

They will, however, retain a lot of the DDT in their bodies (accumulation). This makes it dangerous for those predators who eat these organisms (biomagnification).

Unlike their land-loving relatives, aquatic invertebrates are quite sensitive to DDT, especially while these creatures are still very young. Some problems associated with DDT include reproductive/development impairment and nervous system disorders. At one time, DDT was used to control certain sea crustaceans, because it was so effective against these aquatic invertebrates.

Fish

DDT causes many problems in fish (So many, in fact, that it has been difficult to study DDT in fish. We can't seem to find where the DDT is doing the most damage.) We think that problem probably involves DDT's presence in the fish's plasma membrane, an area where important biological processes are occuring.

27. You're either being a buffoon or you're being misled.
The actual scientists who looked at those emails - scientists, as opposed to the anti-science bloggers and politicians who were making hay with the emails - saw no sign of malfeasance. Instead, they saw actual science being done by actual scientists who were under attack by - surprise! - anti-science politicians!

Take your triumphalism and blow it out your ass.
