money grubbing assholes--White House Intruders Want Money for Their Tale
fuck them

WASHINGTON — As White House officials fended off new questions about how a fame-seeking couple finessed their way into the president’s glittering state dinner last week, the aspiring reality-TV stars themselves began trying to sell their story for hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Television industry executives said on Saturday that Michaele and Tareq Salahi had postponed plans for an interview Monday on CNN’s “Larry King Live” and were seeking top-dollar bids for their first television interview.

The Salahis, who embarrassed the Secret Service by passing through its security screens as if invisible and then posed for the cameras with President Obama and many of his bona fide guests at a party honoring India’s prime minister, remained out of sight on Saturday and their spokeswoman did not return calls. The Secret Service would not comment or say whether investigators have interviewed the pair.

For years, the Salahis have publicized their own flashy adventures in the social and sporting scenes of Washington and its outlying horse country, and left behind a record of lawsuits and unpaid bills, many from the bankruptcy of the family vineyard after extended litigation between Mr. Salahi and his parents.

Even the upscale salon where Mrs. Salahi, with TV cameras in tow, was prepared for the big event had never been paid for its previous services in 2002, when the couple were married, the salon’s operators said in interviews.

1. Is ANYone surprised?
These are mercenary publicity seekers and social climbers. Nothing more. And they will probably get what they want.

Disgusting.

4. Reality TV has turned us all into a bunch of wanna be stars, ever in search of 15 minutes of fame
The harsh fact that some people are going to have to realize is that not everybody is destined to be famous. Some people are better being neither seen nor heard.

6. they dared to go where others feared to go, of course they expect to be paid
we live in america, we are taught that daring and the courage to follow dreams should be rewarded with $$$

i wish them every good success

the photo of the three of them smiling and laughing w. obama touches my heart, they dreamed of meeting their hero and they made it happen while the rest of us sat on our couch and said "what if?"

good for them

in a world where people who have done NOTHING that took courage (think palin or coulter) get paid millions to write tripe, these people who dared to risk being shamed and turned away and tried anyway...good for them, i don't know if the story is worth "hundreds of thousands" but it would be cool if they earned enough to pay down some of their debts

12. i'm not a sarcastic person, i am sincere
if a harmless social butterfly can get themselves known and finally make a few $$$, good for them

they didn't hurt obama, they admired obama and wanted to meet him, and they made it happen

good for them

according to reports, they were searched before entering the white house, they were never a danger to anyone

as far as i'm concerned, no harm, no foul

10. Actually I think they unintentionally did Obama a great service.
Their gate crashing isn't important. What is important is the Secret Service utterly failing its duty to protect the President and Vice-President. This outrageous lapse in security has been exposed and hopefully those responsible will be relieved of their duty and better agents brought in.

i also think it's pretty obvious that they greatly admire obama and biden and were just tickled at the whole idea of attending this particular party

they're fans, a little crazy and bold, but not really that far outside the norm for fans

we're not talking they broke into the white house after hours and tried to steal obama's underwear, we're talking they wanted to have a picture taken with him for facebook

it's sweet, really

kind of proof that obama has arrived as a "rock star" not just another politician

17. Supposedly, they are not "political" people
They are wannabee social climbers, who planned to use this (and other previous stunts) to endear them to Bravo...so they could be "reality-tv stars"..
in other words, they were fully ready to breach White House security, and publicly embarrass the government, so THEY could make a little "easy-money".

Their lawyer (who's paying HIM/HER?) apparently talked them out fo the :arry King "interview", but I'm sure we'll be Balloon-boyed to the max, with their escapades for a long time to come..
