The mousetrap is set...let's see how many unrec's, and argumentative posts I get in less than 2 hours, here.

Oops, did I just post that? My Backspace key doesn't work so I have to keep it here...well, let's see anyway...I think it's too hard for trolls to resist

Shave and haircut................

Shave and a haircut..............

I wish it weren't against the rules to make some points about some stuff, but long-termers will understand. It's gettin' weird here.

1. Democrats, there, who believed in action.
...They each used their life in public service and the power of government to make this a better life for ALL Americans.

Lots of wisdom, there, too. F'r instance:

"If this nation is to be wise as well as strong, if we are to achieve our destiny, then we need more new ideas for more wise men reading good books in more public libraries. These libraries should be open to all -- except the censor. We must know all the facts and hear all the alternatives and listen to all the criticisms. Let us welcome controversial books and controversial authors. For the Bill of Rights is the guardian of our security, as well as our liberty." -- John F. Kennedy, October 29, 1960.

As for the un-rec's, a question: What has Wall Street done to make this a better country or life better for ALL Americans?

3. Didn't Sarah Palin say the same thing but with simpler language?
"Uh, yeah, public liberries are like great...you can meet the townsfolk and stufflikethat, and it's free justso's there aren't books by unscrupulous bookwriters like Salinger or Henry Miller or anti-Christian evil witchcraft like the foreigner who wrote the Harry Potter".

(Just an interpretation...hey, if Faux and Beck can condemn people for what they think they're thinking, well so can I)

6. My mother grew up during FDR's terms...
...and he cemented her political orientation.

What we wouldn't give for a candidate with his kind of compassion, charisma, and determination...

8. Very good point.
FDR's administrations would have been even better had he listened to Eleanor more often, especially on ethnic issues.
