Congressional Candidate Robert Dobbs Calls on Representative Henry Brown (SC-01,R) to Support an Exit Strategy for Afghanistan/Pakistan, HR 2404.

Georgetown, SC - Congressional candidate Robert Dobbs (SC-1, D) calls on Representative Henry Brown to support HR 2404, sponsored by Representative Jim McGovern. This legislation calls on the Secretary of Defense to submit to Congress a report outlining the United States exit strategy for United States military forces in Afghanistan participating in Operation Enduring Freedom.

Dobbs states, “As we consider the condition our economy is in, the number of dead and wounded troops in Afghanistan, the number of civilian casualties, and the likelihood that the Afghanistan/Pakistan conflict could be become a quagmire far worse than Iraq, it is clear that Congress must assert its authority anticipating the President is considering sending 30,000 to 40,000 more troops at an additional cost of $30 billion to $40 billion. Please co-sponsor HR 2404, sponsored by Rep. Jim McGovern, a bill to require the Secretary of Defense to submit a report to Congress outlining the United States exit strategy for United States military forces in Afghanistan participating in Operation Enduring Freedom.”

Robert Dobbs, a veteran of the U.S. Army, is running for Congress in South Carolina’s First District.

5. Thumbs up on an exit strategy, and reports to Congress.
Better yet - no escalation.
