Hug someone you love tonight and treat each other well.

Just found out that another old friend of mine has possibly/probably committed suicide. Just rode to our 20 year reunion with him in the fall of '07. Always the most jovial guy you'd meet. Sometimes that hides a deep despair. Good journey my friend. Rest well.

9. I tried to encourage more connection between us at the reunion
told him to call. stop by. he had his own different circle of friends by then so I wasn't surprised when he didn't. Busy guy with kids. You fall out of touch. Now all I'm left with is wondering and almost a survivor's guilt about the whole thing. I'm the crazy depressed one from our school. My normal friends aren't supposed to succumb to this monster I've been fighting so many years.

6. My attorney invited me for Thanksgiving dinner with his family...
...a big event, daughters and husbands and kids and all of the arguing and good food and laughter that made Thanksgiving special for me growing up.

Before I left last night, I hugged his wife and said "Thank you, Shirley, God Bless You..."

James Taylor nailed it in one song: "Shower the people you love with love, show them the way that you feel, things are gonna turn out fine if you only will..."

Sorry about your friend, but your request shows that his memory is well honored.

7. So sorry for your loss. Been there.
Three friends who committed suicide in the '70s. Never got to be "old" friends. Brought back memories. All the best.

8. The thing that's really tearing me up
Is that on the way to the reunion we were discussing how ridiculously many of our classmates hadn't even made it that far. In fact another one died literally days before the party. Just another check in the old yearbook. I'm just numb anymore.

11. My condolences to you on losing your friend.
As I watched learned, suicide is so very hard on the ones left behind.
I'm glad you know there was nothing you could have done, and I'm sorry for your pain.

12. Kicking for Saturday. My friend's memory deserves it.
He was so talented. Use to be in high school theater with him. Had such a voice on him. Probably could have done opera if he kept at it, but preferred singing jazz, the old standards and we used to have a hell of a time in "Barbershop Quartet" in chorus. I don't know what brought such a happy soul to this low point, but he needs to be remembered for his talent, always friendly smile and the best Tevye in a high school "Fiddler on the Roof" production there ever was.
