Man apparently tried to haul away ATM in Colorado
The AP reports that some fool decided that it was good to haul away an ATM in Colorado.

Personally, I do not understand why these morons do crime like this. Being a recovered alcoholic, I bet it was an addict trying to going to get money for the next bender. Only insane people who lives are unmanageable do crap like this.

Too bad that I am not on the State Prison H&I panel cuz I want ask this fool why did he do it.

3. Err, ATMs get stolen quite often
As Notes points out, It's a big box full of cash. This guy will probably be back next week with a bigger truck and a helper.

6. Could be worse
There are cases of criminals who would wait until a security guard comes over to take the cash out of the ATM machines, then just walk up to them and kill them, then take the money. Times are very desperate now for some people.

7. Nothing new,
Around ten years ago a guy in a nearby town took a frontloader one night and used it to pry up an ATM out of the concrete, then carried it all off. Amazing thing was that given the speed of the frontloader, and the obviousness of the crime, the guy got away and wasn't caught until the next morning.

8. Hey if you are going to rob and steal may as well do it big time.
The bigger the jackpot the more chance you will get away with it. The Wall Street bankers among others have proven that point.

9. I don't think this is so shocking...
Times ARE horribly tough and the rate of desperation for many is climbing... more tales of people knocking over liquor stores and individual robberies will be escalating once the Unemployment benies and other programs continue to run empty...

I think this is but the tip of the Iceberg :scared:
