Bull.... Religious Beliefs
I'm so freaking tired of these self-righteous freaks from backassed countries that think nothing of unilaterally slaughtering millions in power grabbing moves.....but become outraged by the kid who dares challenge their strict religious beliefs by wearing a knee-length skirt .

1. Oh - I thought you were talking about the U.S.
After all, that's what the war in Iraq was about - unilaterally slaughtering millions in a power grabbing move.

Then being outraged by two men kissing on television.

2. This is different from the U.S. and the rest of the first world how?
My point is... all religious beliefs are bullshit. No deity who created the galaxy is going to care what happens on this little blue marble on the edge of things. It won't care about skirt lengths or men kissing or sex out of wedlock. Anybody who thinks so is deluded.

4. Our galaxy is but one of billions..
If there is indeed a creator she created far more than just our little galaxy.

6. Yes I'm aware of this, I was deliberatly trying to keep the scope down a bit.
Religious nuts have trouble acknowledging the location of the planet Earth in our solar system, much less within a galaxy, and to mention the sheer number of galaxies would just make their heads explode.

Ironic, these small minded people have a fear of being shown how small and insignificant they (we) really are.

Fewer nitwits to deal with.

Sorry for being a bit pedantic, I'm accustomed to people not knowing much of astronomy. :fistbump:

9. Uh, professor, why do we need to study this?
Sorry about the sarcasm, I'm assuming you are a teacher though, and just poking a little fun.

12. No, just a lifelong amateur astronomer..
Who gets tired of people who think the Moon has phases because of the shadow of the Earth. :banghead:

It is a very clear late afternoon here, the sky will be brilliant tonight.

11. It's not religion. It's irrational thinking that's the culprit.
It's not knowing the difference between real and imaginary. There are perfectly good religions, like the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, that never hurt anybody.
