Day after Obama announces more troops, WE, the old ladies, will take off our tops
We have used protests, marches, rallies, wrote letters, shut down recruiters stations, sat in and been arrested at Senator and Representative Offices. Signed petitions, send pictures, had vigils, read the names of those killed.

WE, the women, the mothers, the daughters, the aunts, the sisters.. We shall bare our souls.

WE shall take off our tops as we walk through downtown during rush hour.

Some with leave their bras on, some will not. Some will wear cuddle duds for warmth, some will not.

Some will cover their breasts a sign that says "ENOUGH!" "NO MORE"

Maybe seeing old sagging breasts will be enough to wake the people up.

Because it doesn't seem to matter the images of children blown apart, the child crying next to the dead body of their parent, the soldier distraught holding a dead child, the torture pictures w/the the soldier's giving thumbs up, the soldier family surrounding his grave, the soldier who guns down his comrades.

But what will the media do?

12. When isn't the anti-war movement painted that way?
Edited on Fri Nov-27-09 08:54 AM by shadowknows69
If the "Lack of coverage" gets news coverage, then it has done its job, and you know the MSM just can't bring itself to ignore "scandalous happenings". Now the question remains will the anti-war signs be pixelated out with the offending breasts (I don't personally feel that way of course ladies).

13. I'll do a man boob march lol.
That would present a problem for the network censors wouldn't it. Would they blur out our hairy man nipples lol, because they'll have to for the women(Thanks Janet) It's not against the rules to show frontal torso nudity on men in prime time.

mainly to add to the footage I was shooting that day for journalistic purposes. Yeah, that's the ticket.

17. This is a terrible idea -- it drains any intellectual content from the anti-war stance
and makes it a meaningless and incomprehensible spectacle to the average person who other wise might be persuaded.

21. Wow, if I had known this when I was 25, I'd have jumped in front of a speeding bus by now...
If I had known that I would get to an age when the sight of my bare breasts would be more hideous than photos of blown up children, crying children next to dead parents, torture photos, and a soldier's family grieving around his grave, that is...

I don't know who first thought of that, but I'd like to thank the person for their boost of confidence to my ego.

24. I think it's brillant no offense.
It throws a societal view, a bad one, right back at itself. It says Fuck You, we know we're beautiful and we know a lot of you don't think so, so we'll use your own shallow minds against you to get noticed.

Usually the same people who can turn a blind eye to horrors like war are the quickest to judge others by what they see on the outside. Because that is all they can see. But if there's a chance. Even one glimerring hope you can shatter that shield in someone and spark their empathy centers or at least a logic center or two, you may reach someone.

25. Sorry, but I can't find anything positive in
something that includes the line:

Maybe seeing old sagging breasts will be enough to wake the people up.

What if older men decided to stage a protest of their own by baring their gonads? And what if the supposition for that was, "Maybe seeing tiny little wrinkled penises will be enough to wake the people up"? Especially when the statement is made after it's been pointed out that truly hideous images have failed to ignite sufficient outrage...

What man is going to want to expose himself to ridicule that way?

By the same token, if women...including older women with "sagging breasts"... go marching in the streets to protest the war, they would be a laughingstock. Objects of ridicule. Just like protesters for PETA...the message gets lost in their antics, which make bigger news than the wrongs they're trying to protest against.

Anyway, I wish everyone well who intends to participate. I just think it's making a mockery of the entire issue, that's all...

Maybe it turned heads back in the 60s but now it'll turn them the other way.

23. K&R...the anti-war movement needs to retain & bolster its 'unseemly' elements ....
.... elements that the professional, and aspiring-to-be-professional Cla$$, are so put off and embarrassed by ... it's the quirky, anti-social attitude of such tactics that are essential in helping to coax others into seeing that it's necessary and legitimate to break from safe, orthodox, ever-so-concerned-about-what-others-think-of-you mindset.
