Condi set sights on Iraq as 9/11 unfolded: UK diplomat
snip

A former British ambassador to the United States says then-National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice talked to him about Iraq and Saddam Hussein hours after the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001.

Sir Christopher Meyer, who served as Britain's top diplomat in Washington from 1997 to 2003, also told an inquiry into the Iraq war that the timeline the US and Britain set to invade Iraq made it impossible for the UN to determine if Saddam Hussein had active weapons of mass destruction programs.

He also criticized former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, saying that a "stronger prime minister" like Margaret Thatcher would have been able to exert more influence on Washington and allow more time for diplomacy, while insisting on a plan for what would happen after the invasion.

1. Where is that Condoleeza woman nowadays? I see she's almost disappeared from the planet
Probably with good reason, after all the damage she helped the drunk-in-office and his evil master do to this country.

9. I'd bet that the powers behind her ascendancy are writing her off.
They spent loads of money putting her in a place where she could help them. Grad schooled to be an "expert" on the Soviet Onion. but no matter how you peal it, she was still an idiot.

Some of the powers are easily identifiable. Naming an oil tanked after a grad student? Come on.

Between her race and color, a above minimal amounts of smarts, they had high hopes for her. But the worst of all things happened. She was hired by Boy Wander to be his national scrutiny adviser. If anyone could AND should have been warning us about 9/11, it was she. She failed abysmally, even with the CIA and her own terrorist expert trying to get her attention. Even worse, she was promoted, too fast, too high, and way above her level of competence. As sexstate, she made a bad situation worse.

The powers that be must hate bush for ruining what was a multimillion dollar project (condi) and now view her as tainted goods.

10. True. The way I see her is:
1) Either she agreed with the evil illiterate and his master, Dick, in which case she was an a-hole; or,

2) She didn't agree with them and she did it for money, thereby hurting an entire nation for her profit, in which case she is an a-hole.

4. I know she has been doing a speaking tour.
I don't think that has been going very well for her.

There are lotsa protesters to greet and challenge Condi most places she goes.

11. an awfully quiet tour.
I didn't hear of it until your post.

Of course, I suspect that like lightning rods, a big PR push would attract the wrong kind of attention.
