Obama's thankless Thanksgiving
It’s now official: So in vogue are attacks on President Barack Obama that even his proclamation calling the nation to a day of Thanksgiving has become the focus of criticism.

Presidential Thanksgiving messages are a routine bit of executive prose that most attentive citizens happily ignore in this moment of national gratitude. But the sky-is-falling mood that now pervades Obama commentary couldn’t let this 435-word document pass without a few sniffs of disapproval.

The Gawker Web site called it an “uninspiring first effort from our most literary president” and expressed hope that he would spend “a little more time on it next year.” Politico damned it with faint analysis—it was “basic” and “brief” and “tread lightly” to avoid controversy.

1. I'm thanking him for being
our President..I know times are tough but I'm glad he's exactly where he is.

He's telling it like it is.

And I hope the trendy Obama-bashers on the left enjoy the next Republican administration their efforts are likely to help produce. :grr:

4. I think that a lot of this is...
a lot of leftover hate because Hillary lost, and some are republicons. Maybe they will get what they want a republicon or a fake Dem/bluedog. Don't be surprised if one of the fake Dems pops up to run against Obama and none of them would do any better they run their damn mouths as though they are in office and everything would run smoothly if they were the president.

I am watching so called Dems just as much as the republiCONS and from what I am seeing if they do run they won't get my vote. We will just have another Repub in office and then they will start crying again but,I won't be listening if I do it will be to laugh at their silly asses and how they were being fooled again.

As much as some of them have seen they can not stick together for nothing. They take the bait everytime the media throws out some more lies. With this Afghanistan decision, Obama has even made the speech yet and they are speculating and talking as though he had a personal conversation with them and told them exactly what he planned to do.

Over the past campaign, I have really been awaken to how there are soooo many ignorant, racist,or just plain stupid people there are in this country. I also have been awaken to the fact that a lot of people love the status quo and they are still living in the 1930's..

6. If you are going to call people ignorant, don't say "I have been awaken". Twice,

In one year, your unrealistic expectations have included: sweeping Universal Health Care complete with a ban on all private insurance, a completely fixed economy with 8 billion new jobs and a mega budget surplus, a Cat Stevens Brand Perpetual Rainbow and Weeping Unicorn of Peace Machine in the Middle East, daily Gay Pride parades up and down Pennsylvania Avenue complete with gay marriage ceremonies in the East Room, and basically an end to everything that has been ailing the people of our country, and the world at large including but not limited to global warming, NAFTA, AIDS, starving children, and endangered Siberian tigers. Maybe the Republicans were right. You actually DID think he was the Messiah, didn't you?

You can always spot someone who became a Democrat because of this President. I think they've addressed every single one of Rush's stereotypes in one paragraph.

26. More like showing their asses.
Funny how "the left" is being equated to Hilary supporters when there is nothing leftist about the former Senator from New York. They're so busy looking for progressives to bash they can't even be bothered by a little thing like logic.

17. Are you going to deny that
there aren't any here on DU who continue to be angry about the election and all aren't from the left a lot are rightwing nuts too. Yes,you do seem to have a short memory seeing that the election was just last year remember

"Harriet Christian, a self-described "older American woman," accused the Democratic Party of throwing female Democrats under the bus and called Barack Obama "an inadequate black male." And then she said, "They think we won't turn and vote for McCain? Well I got news for all of you: McCain will be the next President of the United States."

Who is Harriet Christian?

YouTube has christened a new sensation: Harriet Christian. She's the lady who ranted at length to reporters after being ejected from the Democratic National Committee's rules meeting on Saturday in Washington. Her intense tirade about Hillary Clinton, that "inadequate black man" Barack Obama, and her prediction that John McCain will win the general election has been viewed 830,000 times.

24. The more Pres Obama is attacked the more I want to defend him.
I think the attacks come mostly from bigots. Many can't stand the thought of a black man as President.
