I actually wouldn't be surprised if aliens were already on Earth, but somehow I doubt that they would make contact through the Bulgarian Academy of Science. Sounds to me like this is just a ploy so that the Bulgarian government won't perform what is obviously a much needed clean up in the Academy of Science.

If I were to see clear proof that extra-terrestrial intelligent life existed, it would probably be the greatest day of my life.

But it's far more likely that Mr. Filipov is either abusing the Bulgarian Plum Brandy or has gone completely insane. I don't see how making up this kind of wild story would help secure his job, if there is a move by the Bulgarian government against their Academy of Science members. In fact, it probably puts it in even greater jeopardy.

Would aliens really be contacting humans through crop circle ciphers that have to be decoded? I would think they would use methods that seem more conventional to humans, if they really want to get their point across.
