Corpse found on roadside after police publicly arrest and beat political leader
Edited on Thu Nov-26-09 02:16 PM by L. Coyote
Honduras Resistance Leader Luis Gradis Espinal's corpse found, after public arrest and beating

Does anyone even care in the USA, that this is happening in the Americas today? Does Obama care? What is being done about it?

This is what Obama and Clinton are supporting by aligning with the Honduras Junta and supporting a sham election,
the public arrest and beating of an opposition political leader followed by an assassination and body dumping beside a road.

Meanwhile in Honduras, the Fascist junta authorities are bragging that they have the names of every "leftist"!
Meanwhile in the USA, if you want developing news from Latin America, go to Cuba or Iran online!!!

TAKE ACTION: Send a postcard to Obama and ask the administration to support human rights instead of those perpetrating fascist political murders!

------------
Urge Your Rep to Sign Grijalva Letter for More US Pressure on Coup Regime in Honduras

Talks between President Zelaya and the coup regime in Honduras broke down over the coup regime's refusal to accept the international demand for President Zelaya's return. The U.S. has so far failed to sufficiently pressure the coup regime.

Rep. Raul Grijalva is circulating a letter to President Obama, calling on him to denounce the repression in Honduras by the coup regime, and to freeze U.S. assets and suspend U.S. visas of coup leaders. Signers of the letter include Reps. McGovern, Conyers, and Serrano.

Urge your Representative to sign the Grijalva letter calling for more U.S. pressure on the coup regime.

2. Oh, he was just some Latin American leftist.
He deserved it.

He probably made them kill him.

The coup was all nice and legal-like, see?

Zelaya is a leftist authoritarian who wanted to seize power.

The military and the coup leaders are liberals like us.

----------

You can call this a preemptive bullshit post. That way the usual suspects don't have to spend their time supporting the coup.

3. Next time they will kill the passenger too. Pesky witnesses, you know.
The problem is not that people are getting killed for being liberals (that's old news),
the problem is that no one seems to give a crap that the USA supports the killers.
Maybe this witnessed event will have a few repercussions,
like awakening the "usual suspects" to current political reality ...

First they came for the extreme leftists ..... and I was silent ........ now I'm dead beside the road.

Honduran military dictatorship arms itself with weapons and munitions of death and declares war on the National Front of Non-Violent Resistance

COFADEH Alert: Tuesday, November 24, 2009 ............ Yesterday November 23, we learned of the kidnapping by paramilitaries of Professor Luis Gradis Espinal (56 years of age), Coordinator of the Resistance in the southern zone, and today his lifeless body was found feet and hands tied on a dirt road in the hamlet Las Casitas, southwest of the capital, near an area where various military units are located.

Professor Gradis Espinal left his house last Sunday, November 22 for the capital with the objective of meeting with one of his sons. Confirmed versions have it that Gradis Espinal was driving his vehicle when he was intercepted by a motorized patrol in the periphery loop road of the capital. The teacher was captured and taken to an unknown place.

The teachers are being persecuted; some of them have been obliged to leave the country temporarily.

In the same way our concern is needed in the case of professor Marco Tulio Valdez, leader of the Resistance in San Lorenzo, Valle, since he is being strongly threatened by the military authorities who have taken absolute control of the department; from this moment we hold responsible this body, especially Commander Mendoza, for any attempts on the life of Valdez.

COFADEH energetically condemns the assassination of Luis Gradis Espinal, whose death is added to that of Roger Vallejo, Mario Contreras and Felix Murillo.Bertha Oliva

We exhort the national and international community to condemn these attacks to which the Honduran people are falling victim by the military dictatorship .............

5. "repressive corpses" should read "repressive forces" in the PL translation above.
"cuerpo" in this context is used in the same sense as in a eg. "body of soldiers".

6. And just in time for the election. What great timing.
Where are you, Hillary Clinton?

Where are you, Barack Obama?

7. A first. US recognizes election before it happens! Then, the election is militarized
and we see no comment from the US about the ongoing changes in the already recognized election.

So what if the military now has possession of all the ballots, this one is already recognized. Ridiculous move, giving them a preemptive excuse to do whatever.
