Frontline: The Card Game. Anybody see this?
Edited on Thu Nov-26-09 10:42 AM by Postman
The arrogance of these banksters to still be squawking about how the gov't needs to stay out of the way after they collapsed the system due to a hands-off approach by gov't regulators...and to be charging up-wards of 30% on credit cards when they are borrowing money from the Fed at near zero interest rates AND getting handouts/bailouts from we the taxpayers.

NY Times Columnist Joe Nocera said it best. Obama isn't being radical enough to hurt the banks.

They didn't address the fact that workers wages have remained flat since the 70's and the gap between productivity and wages has been filled by credit/debt

3. This bears repeating again and again!
"and to be charging up-wards of 30% on credit cards when they are borrowing money from the Fed at near zero interest rates AND getting handouts/bailouts from we the taxpayers."

The credit card companies make the Mafia look like kids with a lemonade stand.

4. I have Discover at 10.24% and an AMEX Costco card at 13.24%
I can't afford to carry balances at those rates. I can't imagine the people that go on paying 30%.
I used to use a Citi Platinum Rewards card for about everything and paid it off every month. Now that one is somewhere around 30% and they charge you interest from the moment of purchase. Even if you pay it off every month on time, you get dinged.
There was a period where I borrowed about $6,000 at maybe 3% interest all together using credit cards. The last 3 years I was paying it off at zero interest. With the rewards, they were paying me to use their cards. Those days are gone, but at least I get away most months without paying them anything.

5. I watched it the other night. None of it really surprised me.
Most interesting was the guy who designed the fee systems and the jackass who came up with the idea in the first place.
