Now, it's too late!
Like all other Ds, I got that e-mail from the WH the day after Obama was sworn into office telling us that we were to launch a War on Thanksgiving this year, specifically attacking the holiday's religious roots. But with all the other problems this year, I totally forgot about it. The climax of the War was supposed to be the State Dinner yesterday, featuring a menu that was not only absent all of the traditional American holiday fare - and that featured curry, fer Chris sake! - but where both the hosts and the guests of honor were, well, er...not so white.
That meal happening so close to our National Holiday of Gluttonous Indulgence was supposed to sink the spirit of the nation and cause us to curse our way through this holiday. The hope was that families around the country would end their pre-meal grace with the immortal words of Rev Jeremiah Wright, "Not god bless America, but god DAMN America!!," and that calling upon god to curse America would lead to a huge increase in Americans changing their Party affiliation from R & I to Democrat.
I'm assuming that the AMA-recommended composting of the green bean/mushroom soup/onion crisp casserole scheduled for 1pm has also been called off. Shit.
What was it Will Rogers said about not belonging to an organized political party?
