Would the fact that Marijuana was legal give you the feeling that it was ok to try it, if you never had?

65. What is SAD is that anyone who's been stoned before would denigrate someone's decision not to
partake.

We used to have a "Smoker's Etiquette" that dictated how we acted when we were stoned. Rule One was that the most recent addition to our smoking session got the next hit.

I think that all my stoner friends would agree that you violated Smoker's Etiquette by attempting to shame someone for not partaking.

People can simply state that they aren't interested without sounding like condescending assholes too you know. It is that attitude and the incessant stereotyping that peeves me to no end. Not all stoners sit around listening to 'Floyd and act like Cheech & Chong! Your doctors smoke it, your cops too, then there's teachers and firemen and who knows who else - now get over it!

70. In California, you DO have a condition that requires marijuana.
The law is written so broadly that you can basically say, "Doc, I feel bad when I'm not high," and that will get you a recommendation. For $150 or so. Then you could legally possess and use marijuana. A couple of hundred thousand Californians have figured this out.

I think it's about time I contacted the NV chapter of NORML and saved up for my permit.

I've never been high before, but I have been horribly addicted to narcotic pain shit. It fucks you up over time even if you stick to the prescribed doses, which I did. Never again. I'd rather float on a pain-free buzz that I have some control over.

It's definitely a better high when it's legal... but that's just because the paranoia isn't as relevant.

Ironically though, in Amsterdam I kept accidentally smoking it... people kept offering joints which I kept thinking were just cigarettes... the accidental high. Oops.

If it were legal would I try it (I've never tried it)? No. Just not interested.

Would it give me the feeling it was okay to try it? Sure, from a legal standpoint. I think that it's okay to try/use it as is. I have no problem with folks using it all they want, and yes I do think it should be legalized. I'm just not interested.

26. yes, and have
Living in holland it's legal for me to responsibly smoke.
With the stress in my life latley, I could no longer deal without some kind of chemical assistance.
Considering my choices, a few puffs at the end of the day, at home, in my back yard, seemed logical.

I've also started smoking strong cigars. Not much, just enough to get dizzy n light headed, then i sit on my couch and just relax.

am i proud? oh hells no!
but my choices were becoming increasingly fewer.

As long as it's legal where I am, I will support the local economy.
where it's not, I won't.

Point being, is that I am obeying the law AND i'm supporting the local economy in a very direct way.

That helps with stress relief as well =]

48. Make sure its not Minear's Disease
http://www.ehow.com/about_5063952_minears-disease.html

Please make sure that your husband doesn't have Minear's Disease.

I had tinnitus for some time until a doctor gave me the correct diagnosis. There is a laboratory test that can be done for it.

If you think that he might have Minear's Disease but can't see a doctor for a while try this:

Go on a "no Sodium" diet. This is not a no salt diet but check everything you eat to radically reduce sodium intake. If he has Minear's Disease then part of the inner ear over produces a sodium based liquid that corrupts the inner ear.

Hope this helps.

If he has Minears' Disease then you want to control it with diet before it increases other symptoms including vertigo.

As for tolerating tinnitus the only real answer is having ambient noise in the background. The ringing sound is actually not caused by the ear but by the brain - like the static your radio produces when you get further away from the radio station.

You can get noise machines to play soft ocean or other sounds at night when the condition becomes intolerable.

Deaf in one ear (since they remove the inner ear during that surgery), but no more vertigo nor violent nausea. Unfortunately, she has developed a loss of balance to the point where she has fallen seven times this year. That is worrisome for someone in her 80s.

92. No, it doesn't. Educate yourself. Google "sativa" for starters.
Sheesh, some people are STILL dumb enough to fall for the lies about this beneficial plant!

47. Alcohol is far worse than Cannabis...
... I smoke it, as well as cook with it. Anyway, I digress (yes, yes, I know that's indicative, but digression isn't like forgetting what we were talking about, which was, um..)

Cannabis should be legal, but there should be much stricter rules in place for driving automobiles, trucks or operating any other heavy machinery while under the influence of any sort of chemical or technology that prevents a person from paying dedicated attention to the process.... That includes the worst fucking device yet invented: the cell phone.

No, I have no proof or statistics, but intuition tells me that more automobile accidents and deaths are caused by the fucking cell phone than people smoking cannabis... they're all in the far right lane, with the cruise control set at 100 kph. Of course, mixing cannabis with babbling on the cellphone can be bad.

55. Maybe I would try it
if I didn't have to smoke it.

I have never even taken a drag off of a regular cigarette, so I can't see me smoking anything.

67. It is not a smoke product. Smoking is a prefered deliver system
but there are many other ways to ingest. So you did not answer the question. It is an herb, which can be cooked with, made into chewing gum or peanut butter, a vapor, a liquid...just saying.

69. The answer is still no, I wouldn't
I like being sober.

I have no medicinal need to use it either.

66. Maybe on occasion, though I do not drink even though it is legal
Edited on Thu Nov-26-09 02:16 PM by csziggy
Maybe because once I stopped drinking regularly, I found that I did not enjoy the sensations I got from the intermittent drink.

These days I take so much other medication, I would need to check with my doctor about using pot while taking those drugs. But it might help with my chronic pain issues.

74. No, I take an SSRI and Ritalin and don't want drug interactions.
Us folks on the Autism spectrum also tend to have odd reactions from psychoactive substances, anyway, another reason I'd rather avoid it.

75. Seems like a silly question
if it was legal, would more people smoke it, like cigarettes? If someone could claim they had never tried it, then they could honestly answer that question. But if you have tried it, how would you know how you would feel about trying it if you hadn't tried it?

Today the penalty for getting caught is much greater than it was in pot's "hey-day."

So people who never tried it then would be less inclined to try it now, unless they don't give a damn about the law and use it anyway. Which, I don't care if anybody likes pot and am totally in favor of it being totally legal even though I don't care for it.

Good pot does smell good, though . . . .

80. Probably not.
Definitely wouldn't smoke it. Might try brownies but I'm a bit of a control freak and really *hate* being drunk so I can't imagine I would enjoy being stoned that much.

Don't care if other people want to do it and certainly think it should be legal but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't really enjoy it.

91. Though I don't currently smoke it
because I am subject to random UA at work, a lot of people who do smoke it don't like alcohol either. It is completely unlike alcohol inebriation in it is nearly impossible to get so intoxicated as to be 'out of control'. In fact Gallagher used to have a bit where he was talking about getting high and said something about 'It is stupid to keep smoking once you are high..you don't get no higher, your stash just gets lower'.

but I would likely self medicate with it occasionally. Occasional muscle tension or insomnia. I would keep some around as I do aspirin and cold pills.
