The beauty of it is that I just have to be clever enough to get stinking rich without losing my soul. Otherwise, it's easy. :)

Look at campaign donations to senators who used to be solidly for single payer and who are now waffling on even a weak public option. It looks like it takes about $1 million/election cycle to buy one outright, so we'd just need, oh, about $20 million a year to buy off ten of the most pliable senators from each end of the political spectrum. Combined with our 40 steady votes, we'll have it made.
