Tonight's J. Danforth Quayle Award For Republican Stupidity goes to CHUCK NORRIS
Edited on Wed Nov-25-09 08:44 PM by MrScorpio

"The holocaust was an obscene period in our nation's history.…
No, not our nation's, but in World War II. I mean, we all lived in this century.
I didn't live in this century, but in this century's history."

J. Danforth Quayle
Vice-President of the United States
1989-1993

Chuck Norris Whines About Fading Freedoms But Doesn't Prove Any Lost Freedom
Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 7:44PM

I just don't get it when "conservatives" claim that their freedom is under attack. The reason I don't get it is that they can never actually pinpoint how their freedom has been abridged and what exactly the government has done to abridge a particular freedom. Chuck Norris, in his latest column where he does not plus his new book, claims to be thankful about his fading freedoms. And, which freedoms are fading. Well, it is nothing less than hyperbole and b.s.:

Washington has reduced our freedoms and restricted our future by heaping upon our posterity astronomical amounts of debt, trying to jump-start the credit circus in our economy.

Let's ignore the fact that the increased spending pretty much avoided another Great Depression - yeah, I know it is a big deal. So, how exactly has our future been restricted? Oh, details are such unimportant things for "conservatives."

Washington also is reducing our medical choices or freedoms, by mandating a government option upon all of us.

This does not even make sense. How can you mandate a government option upon all of us? You can't mandate an option. I mean, if it is a mandate, it cannot be an option. The public option actually adds to our choice and freedom. Man, what a fool.

Washington is going around the backdoor to provide illegals with universal health care by seeking their amnesty. That means Americans eventually would pay for another 14 million people's government health care. Amnesty also would reduce the number of jobs available to the unemployed by adding more to the legal work force and simultaneously would slow down the rate of the unemployed's being re-employed.

Again, this makes no sense. Illegals in this country are already employed, or else they would return home (as many have during this recession). And as for paying their health care - we already do if they go to the emergency room, and if they are legally here, they would be paying their fair share.

Washington also has reduced our speech freedoms guaranteed in the First Amendment, by passing a hate crimes bill that was amended to the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2010, criminalizing conservative free speech if it can be proved to have contributed to assaults based upon sexual orientation.

Here is the lie again about hate crimes criminalizing speech. So, now Norris is forced to make up stuff to prove that freedoms are being curbed. We already have hate crimes laws based on other classifications - where was the outrage then. And, why does it only curb conservative speech. This is just plain ridiculous. There are already standards for when speech can be criminalized and hate crimes speech does not change these standards. Gee, Norris why don't you read constitutional cases since you claim to cherish the Constitution so.

The White House even has reduced religious freedoms, by belittling America's rich Judeo-Christian heritage, enabling a secular-progressive and pro-Islamic agenda, and remaining indifferent to certain issues, such as the American Civil Liberties Union's disposal in the Mojave Desert and at Mount Soledad of memorial crosses for veterans. It also has turned a blind eye to the whitewashing of our godly heritage from Washington's historic landmarks and on U.S. artifacts.

Again, just stupid hyperbole with no basis in face. That is the "conservative" way.

Washington would restrict religious freedoms and freedoms of conscience by forcing pro-life citizens to pay for abortions via universal health care.

Does Chuck Norris care when Washington forces those opposed to war, including Quakers, to pay for them. All of us in society are force to pay for things that we are opposed to. Why should we make a special exception for Norris. That is rather selfish and arrogant of him, don't you think?

Washington also has reduced our freedoms (and those of our service members) by increasing the threats to our country via the delay in response to our generals' requests for more troops in Afghanistan, allowing Gitmo detainees and terrorists to come to the U.S., and enabling homegrown terrorists, such as Maj. Nidal Hasan, within the very fabrics of our military.

Again, no proof of this. What freedom has exactly been abridged? Life. People are murdered everyday. What is the point here?

This whole column is just plain stupid and ends with Norris's two favorite things: God and guns. He cannot name a single freedom that has been abridged and how it is related to a specific government policy. C'mon, Norris just tell me one thing that you could have done a year ago that you cannot do now because of government intervention and/or policy. Just one. He can't because this column is nothing more than just fear mongering and verbal diarrhea.

Looks like that ass kicking that Bruce Lee gave you back in the day had some amazing lasting effects, Chuck.

4. Don't Insult Quayle
with Vice-President Quayle, a lot of the charming "Quaylisms" weren't even true. As for those that were, well, many of them were off-the-cuff remarks that came out garbled. So he wasn't the most eloquent speaker and said some stupid things - don't we all?

It's an entirely different matter to take the time to write a column that is a paranoid rant.

(and Lee was holding back).

Seems to me the doctors missed the fractured skull and lack of oxygen to the brain in favor of treating the broken arms.

A photogenic empty suit who could be easily led by his handlers, very much in the tradition of Ronald Reagan. When Bush Sr. lost to Clinton, it screwed the whole thing up and they had to recast.
