Then it's several days of slaving in the kitchen, watching your family shovel it down within 20 minutes, male eyes constantly jerking toward the TV set blatting away in the next room, then hours more of cleanup slavery followed by days and often weeks of trying to figure out how to jazz up the leftovers so they'll be gone by the time the next batch of them is produced with a repeat performance on Xmas.

Thanksgiving is a man's holiday, that's for sure.

Telling the men it's time they got up off their fat asses and spent some time cooking what everyone, after all, eats.

Women are only made kitchen slaves by their own lack of willingness to speak up and say "Hey. Guys. This is not all about 'We cook and clean while you watch football.' Get with the 21st century."

I'm lucky, I guess. I'm going to be with nothing but females in my family tomorrow. And guess what--we ordered out. So none of us is cooking.

the herd mentality that happens when more than three of them are together.

It's astonishing, the men who freely pitch in don't want to be shown up by the other males, so they squat in front of that TV whether or not they have any interest at all in football.

Hiding all the TV sets out in the woods might help, but I doubt it.
