I like arguing with both of them.

It's quite freeing.

2. He's a helluvalot better than McCain.
I really appreciate his leadership style and his thought processes. It reminds me of how I make decision.

Honestly, I don't know what to think about a lot of stuff he's done. If I were in his shoes, would I have acted differently?

I feel a lot of conflict these days.

5. He does think things through. He has a very good mind.
And I believe a good heart/character.

But I hear you on the "conflicted" thing. These issues are so complex -- "If I were in his shoes, would I have acted differently?"

3. In the campaign he struck me as a left of center Democrat, and a pragmatist
Edwards and DK campaigned as Progressives. I supported Edwards initially. I grew to like Obama, but I always knew he was not a classic liberal.

He's a lot better than McCain. He has done some good things. I wish he would do some things "better". I think he can be pushed in the right direction.

He is not THE MONSTER that some DU'ers and the Freepers try to make him out to be.

Patterns in posters do emerge.

I'm sure that you're aware of this. You're here enough.

10. My feelings toward Obama are complicated.
I caucused for Edwards (yes, we dodged a bullet there) in Iowa, but Obama was a pretty close second choice. I've been largely disappointed, but think he still has a lot of potential. I think he's surrounded himself with all the wrong people. I know he wanted to do the whole "team of rivals" thing, but I'm not sure he's got the necessary disposition to lay down the law with them.

Bottom line is I still like him, but there needs to be a course correction.

11. I'm certainly not a cheerleader, and I don't want to be an Obamabasher . . .
but he's making it mighty difficult to maintain neutrality . . . bank bailouts, promises to "finish the job" in Afghanistan, support of the Patriot Act, refusal to sign the land mine ban, etc. are all too reminiscent of his predecessor, and certainly aren't indicative of any kind of meaningful change . . .

imo, meaningful change will only come when someone in power takes on the corporations and strips them of their power . . . Obama apparently is not that person, and I foresee no real change during his administration . . . which is really depressing, since I voted for him in the belief that he'd bring something different to the presidency . . . so far it's same old, same old, at least on the issues that most concern me . . .
