Fresno: Battleground in the War on Christmas

The economy is the Grinch stealing Christmas at Fresno City Hall, where layoffs and budget shortfalls have left no money for the downtown holiday tree.

Fresno spokesman Randy Reed said staff reductions mean fewer people are available to set up, decorate and take down the giant tree that has been hauled each year from the Sierra Nevada.

Last year thousands of families turned out for the lighting of the 61-foot tree, which took workers a full week to get ready.

Well? What are the teabaggers going to do about this? What about Insannity? He was just in the Central Valley shilling for Ahh-nuld's big water grab. Why doesn't he donate a tree to Fresno?

Oh, right. The budget shortfall is the result of intransigence by Ahh-nuld and repukes in the Assembly and Senate. So I guess it's OK. :sarcasm:

2. Isn't Fresno the home of Free Republic's Jim Robinson?
No doubt he'll roll in and correct the problem, eh?

3. Excellent point!
Judging by FR's sleek layout, :sarcasm: they must be rolling in dough that they could use for a tree, perhaps a Douglas FR. :P
