What happens when common sense runs up against corporate interest?

Marine Capt. Matthew Hoh resigned in protest over the Afghanistan War for reasons that are closer to the idea of protecting American lives, treasure and interest than are those of the stated policy objectives (i.e. lies) - fighting the war on terror.

The reason for US military/mercenary occupation of Afghanistan is to bring some sort of stability to the country through a puppet regime (Karzai) in order to exploit the region for its natural resources that mainly benefit corporate interests - which are fraudulently passed off on the American people as "national interest"...
