People are wrong on the internet again!
Tenacious D - what a great band! I'm not sure what the D stands for (I doubt that I want to know), but I'm pretty sure it doesn't stand for Democrats. Because most of us are anything but tenacious.

Boo hoo hoo! Barack Obama has had almost eleven whole months and so far he has completely failed to deliver us to a utopian paradise on Earth. Let's just stay home for the next election and vote third party in 2012. Things couldn't be any worse under President Mike Huckabee, could they?

And this health care reform - what a farce. We should all write our Congressmen and tell them to vote against this monstrosity. All it would do is end discrimination against the sick and poor. But if there isn't a robust public option, it just isn't worth it. I know lives would be saved, but it would be an ideological defeat for those lives to be saved through a private corporation instead of a public plan.

And we would all be forced to buy insurance from those corporate bloodsuckers. I'll bet the corporate class is just chomping at the bit, doing everything they can to make sure this plan passes and goes into effect as soon as possible.

I'll bet if I were President, I could run things so much better than Barack Obama. Obviously, I have much more understanding about how things work than he does. I would probably have singed single-payer into law by now. The last soldier would have already come home from Afghanistan, and cap and trade would be in full force. Because I would govern as a true progressive, and not cater to the Blue Dogs, the Republicans would respect me and know they couldn't just delay and obstruct MY agenda.

And that's just if I were President. So many of you here are so much more intelligent and enlightened than me, imagine what YOU would be able to accomplish from the Oval Office.

5. Mocking you?
Whatever do you mean? I would do nothing of the sort. We all know there really wouldn't be any appreciable difference between a Palin adminsitration and a second Obama administration. Just like there were no major differences between Bush and Gore. I think liberal-minded folks like us should vote third party in 2012. U.S. history has demonstrated time and again how effective a strategy that is.

14. Who will you be voting for, Huckabee?
I mean, it makes no difference, right? The corporatists and the insurance companies rule us whoever is President.

A real President would just shut down those insurance companies. He can do it with the "bully pulpit." Everyone would quit paying their premiums so we could have single payer.

15. no... I don't support the GOP at all
zip. zilch. nada. I think their platform is BS.

I would simply hold my vote. I know what the response to this will be, but I cannot in good faith support fascist policies just because one candidate sucks a little bit less than the other. From an individual standpoint, it is unethical.

I voted for Obama, and by doing so put my faith in him. He chose to play to the "centrists" (yeah, right. whatever). That was his decision. And it will be my decision as to whether I'll believe him when campaign time rolls around and he starts talking crap again.

Obama was the first president I'd voted for in 30 years. I stopped voting because neither party was fielding a candidate I could support. I took a big chance supporting Obama that he would keep his campaign promises. He has not, in my opinion. If by some chance he would change and start doing what he promised to do, well, I would certainly reconsider. At this point, though, he won't be getting my vote.

18. well, he can have the centrist vote then
because he won't be getting mine, at this rate.

As for centrists being better than rightists, well, I don't know about that, either. A centrist is simple a pol who will lean towards whomever has the most money, generally speaking. Centrists support the MIC, and all the other Big Institutions that are part and parcel of the problem.

20. You'll still be living in a country full of centrists
What do you plan to do to move it leftward? It'll be harder if you let Huckabee win.

13. I think you would have known how to use that bully pulpit and LEAD dammit!
You would have gone onto Faux Noise daily to pontificate on single payer and to inform the blue dogs they must vote for it or they would get no DLC money and therefore would be defeated by more progressive candidates. That would have shown them! They'd have all voted for single payer with that threat aimed at them!
