1. I'm not sure there is MSNBC radio. I know Morning Joe radio is carried by ABC Radio, so...
I have to assume MSNBC doesn't do it. Otherwise, you'd think they'd have Scarborough on.

2. XM used to carry the audio from the TV channel.
They don't anymore though. My main radio channel is XM Potus. And C-span radio, BBC radio--also on XM. Or else just NPR or PRI--we have two public radio stations in our area.

5. I get all those channels on this internet radio free. Two day owner
I guess the only reason I'll keep XM radio now is for the Car.

Time to cancel my home xm radio account

12. thanks a lot!
We talked about this today and think it's a good idea. We can get XM on it, and even if we stop subscribing to XM there are still thousands of other channels we can use one of these radios for. It's also compatible with Sirius. We have our online XM grand-fathered in for free for the time being--but after our payment period is up in 13 months, we'll need to start paying the extra $2.99/month for the XM Online.

We were on the phone with XM support today and she noted that our old Pioneer XM radio is outdated, and offered us a new XM radio for our car for $19.99--the Onyx which retails for $79. So we're going to take them up on that. We only use one subscription now, and are using a radio that goes from house to car. With this new set up we won't have to do that anymore. Thanks again for the idea. :)

3. There used to be--carried on XM satellite (but not for a few years)
Besides Air America (in its infancy), MSNBC was one of the "hooks" for me to subscribe to XM.... Bummer

7. I still listen to what is left of progressive radio on XM....
but, I like very little of it. They have really destroyed programming with all the SIrius faux progressive talkers. But, I foolishly paid for two years in advance, so I still listen...

8. Man I have been wanting one of those

They have really come down in price.
I like to listen to the radio a lot. I leave mine on all night. Once it was a way for me to let my imagination soar.
Decades ago it was a way to learn about other cities across the country.
Now, everything is owned by Clearchannel and cumulus. As such at night we get fifty channels of Art Bell.
I now choose between a sports show out of Chicago (yuck), an overnighter out of Denver that is hard to get, old time R&R from Toronto(yeah) and BBC from our local NPR station.
Ergo I have been wanting an internet radio so I can get some of those far flung small stations that carry liberal radio and true local radio.

ETA - I usually listen to WCPT in chicago, KPOJ in Portland Oregon or KPTK in Seattle during the day. I used to listen to Mike Malloy but not sure where he is at these days.
