Portrayal in Palin book irritates former aide
Source: ANCHORAGE DAILY NEWS

Former Gov. Sarah Palin's book, "Going Rogue," blames her first legislative director for moves early in her term that helped poison her relationship with state lawmakers. But the ex-aide, John Bitney, calls Palin's account a fabrication and said he wishes his former boss would leave him alone.

"I'm just pilloried right and left and turned into the big bad wolf here for stuff I didn't do," said Bitney, who is now an aide to Valdez Republican Rep. John Harris. "It's like I'm this fictional character that she's decided to make me out to be this sort of incompetent slob."
...
Bitney is now swinging back hard at Palin, agreeing to appear over the weekend on a television show hosted by one of the former governor's most vocal critics in Alaska, blogger Shannyn Moore. Bitney was on a panel of others slammed in "Going Rogue" that included Palin nemesis Andrew Halcro and Anne Kilkenney, who wrote a long e-mail critical of Palin's leadership in Wasilla that was forwarded around the country during the presidential campaign last year.

Moore asked Bitney if Palin is sane. Bitney's response: "Is a sociopath sane?"

2. Love it. Is a sociopath sane. She's got great appeal to the bottom
50% on the intelligence scale - but problem with the Repuke PTB - they can't control her like they could Bush.

why I hate her - she inciting hatred of O during campaign

why I think she does have a screw loose - she agreed to be vp to begin with. she didn't have the brains to realize she wasn't capable. Like a first year intern being asked to perform a heart transplant - they say no - I am not ready.

3. What did she blame her daddy for?
Why do I have this feeling that he's responsible for this lunatic's persona. And what is he doing on the tour other than seeking his little piece of the money.

6. I'll tell you why. One look at him and you can tell there's something wrong.
He seems like a real weirdo.

4. Perhaps we have a professional who can weigh in on this-
I talked to a mental health professional about sociopaths after I read 'The Devil In the White City'- good book. I was told that yes, usually sociopaths are sane. They know the difference between right and wrong, but just don't care. They are wired differently than us and then combine that with parenting gone completely wrong and you produce a damaged adult. I learned than not all sociopaths are murderers and they surround us everyday. A symptom is of course narcissism, which is a sort of defense mechanism. The problem for the rest of us is that they don't wear signs around their neck that say 'Loony- stay away'.

5. Hard to find sympathy for Bitney
After all, he probably didn't bat an eye as long as Failin' was playing the sociopathic pit bull with all & sundry who crossed her path, but he cries like a baby when she burns HIS biscuits. Besides, he's already landed a gig with another slimy repug, so his experience must not have been bad enough to turn him sour on the entire sociopathic party.

Still, I'm glad he's not giving Barbie McLipSchmutz carte blanche to tell her lies unchallenged. Plus, that line - "is a sociopath sane?" - may haunt her for quite awhile.
