..... I did something I rarely do this morning, and turned on the news, browsing local and national channels. On 4 of the 5 news channels, I was greeted by stories about putting together your Black Friday doorbusters gameplan.
My head went :nuke:

I quickly flipped back to the Sundance Channel.

2. Every time I watch the local news for even a second, I'm sorry.

I never cease to be amazed at the stupidity of the stories chosen and how they are covered. I just can't stand the fake sorrow over tragedies, the cliched writing (police always making "grisly discoveries," etc.), the lighthearted stupid banter, the features on things like shopping and (this is a big one during sweeps month) "behind the scenes at the hit TV show ____ that appears on our network."

If they hadn't started thinking of news shows as profit centers, then they'd only come on with news when there was something to report.
