Let me just try to understand...
The Roman Catholic Pope Church In Rome plays very, very (all evidence to either truth or historical realism notwithstanding *and* to the contrary) very-very small in the run-up to JFK's presidency cause they don't want anyone to even *think* that Rome is trying to run-the-show,

But now that they think they are running the show here in America; they deny: deny! - communion *to* the kith & kin *of* JFK just to prove that their lies and their aspersions are seemless & timeless regardless of whomever sits anywhere including the WH?

Holy Rome wants to make the world more godly? Let them bring their Catholicism down here to where the people live

1. Recommended.
Years ago, I did some work with a Catholic priest in Albany, NY. He had been elected to office in the state government, and focused his efforts on jail reform. While that was not a wildly popular enterprise during those years -- Reagan was in office -- it was a time when liberal and progressive Catholics were serving as a voice of conscience in the Americas. I recognized Father Jim as one of those people who didn't simply talk/preach religion, but who put his beliefs into action.

The top cone heads found it necessary to try to handcuff the men and women who were practicing Liberation Theology. They pressured Jim to give up his elected office. He refused, and faced the consequences. Long story short, Father Jim and Sister Mary were forced out of the church, and they ended up getting married.

When the Catholic Church, or any other, has to sacrifice people of conscience, in order to maintain a comfortable relationship with those opposed to individual conscience, it can only serve to divide the community.

3. Happy to see that many others are upset with the renewed...
intrusion of the Catholic Church into politics.

4. Patrick might be getting a huge break by not taking communion. I know as
a catholic that it is a ritual, but make a religious commitment in another way. Now that said. This seems like political bribery.

5. Yes, and I was baptized by the Bishop of California but it is political bribery no doubt...
and not just of Patrick, but every Catholic standing beside or behind him. They are by these-their chastisements and obstacles to even the thought of god they presume to know us more sincerely than we know them
