Fox News: Conservative women are more scrutinized by the media

Not only is Fox News doing ridiculous high school popularity polls between Nancy Pelosi and Sarah Palin (in which shockingly, Fox News viewers favored Palin over Pelosi), but co-host Gretchen Carlson adds that Pelosi still doesn't get much "scrutiny" because "if you're a conservative woman, you get more attacks."

In response, Media Matters put together some of the lovely references that Fox has made towards Pelosi, rehashed by Think Progress. Let's see...

- On the November 10 edition of Fox and Friends, for instance, radio host Laura Ingraham said that "Pelosi basically did everything except sell her own body" to pass health care reform.

- On Nov. 4 on the O'Reilly Factor, Dennis Miller said Pelosi had a "sub-reptilian intellect" and likened her face to a "lizard laying on a hot rock."

- On October 30, Fox and Friends laughingly re-enacted protesters calling for Pelosi to "burn in hell."

- On October 21, Bill O'Reilly mocked Pelosi, saying, "If there wan't Botox involved, with all due respect, there might have been more expression" on her face.

- On August 6, Glenn Beck joked about putting poison in Pelosi's wine.

- On May 20, Hannity guest Jay Thomas said, "I think if you waterboarded Nancy Pelosi, she wouldn't admit to plastic surgery."

- On May 19, Dennis Miller called her a "train wreck" and a "shrieking harridan magpie."

2. I want to see ANYONE scrutinized as much as Hilary!

Put all the conservative (or extreme RW) women's scrutiny together and you won't find a total even close to what they did to Hilary! I voted for Obama, but I gotta tell ya, either Hillary or Obama would have AND ARE better in office than any of the nutballs they're talking about!

If ANY Dem women would have said the stupid thing that Sarah did, they would be history! They would be even unfound on Google!

4. Hell, the wingnuts have been persecuting Hillary since before she was a Governors wife.

The hatred Richard Mellon-Scaife has for the Clintons has been around for a LONG time, and it's his money that drove the media frenzy to attack them from the time Bill was running for Governor.
