1. I can't answer this. I think it's sad when we have to legislate common courtesy.
Cars up on blocks, dead deer, swimming pools, etc.

Chances are your neighbors don't want to see any of these. Keep them in the backyard.

19. A tradition? Really?
I grew up around lots of hunters, and it was never a tradition. Most did it where it was convenient, but I can't imagine hanging dead animals to be a tradition.

20. NH Law
Deer must be transported in plain sight - part of laws against poaching.

30. I'm refering to those who drive around showing off their buck...
and not those who are merely transporting their kill.

If people think this is inappropriate, then perhaps I should straighten this idiot out.

26. I'm sure that some deer hunters own houses that are in neighborhoods with home owners' associations.

28. Could be but...
I lived for 25 years with a hunter and none of our friends lived within an HOA. At the time, it was a very rural, mountainous area with one HOA in the area. In that HOA, all the properties were 5+ acres and the only issue they cared about was road maintenance. Deer? Not an issue.

32. Hello
Thank you. I'm feeling about as weak and sore as I ever have in this life. It's frustrating, but I do not seem to have been offered many choices, for the moment. At least I can read, and remember what I read five minutes later. Last week, I read one of the books that my kids got for me (Ted Kennedy's autobiography), but I don't remember it -- so I'll read it again! Good book, I think.

7. It's a dubious question
But I don't think it should be prohibited.

I don't think that the general populace should be exposed to deer carcasses anywhere.

Just as it's illegal to expose cow carcasses wherever THEY'RE butchered.

12. We display dead cows, chickens, fish, turkeys, geese, ducks, lobsters, clams, oysters, and pigs
hell we even display dead people from time to time.

Why not deer?

13. It shouldn't be illegal, but "display" should be considered a strange motivation
I think people should show a little common courtesy, and try and do the bloody, dirty jobs out of sight of people who may be made uncomfortable...

15. I hope I have a couple hanging up this weekend
My 12 year old son killed a nice whitetail Saturday, my turn now. I'm about out of meat from last year, only have about 20 pounds of deer burger left, gotta fill the freezer back up.

My younger brother and his fraternity did get a warning for hanging and cleaning a deer in the tree in the front yard of their fraternity house in the middle of the college campus. His excuse was they were crunched for time since it was a football game day but I think they enjoyed the outrage anyway lol.

And congrats to your son! My son and I are working on our archery skills and hope to go bowhunting to thin the deer on our land next year.

25. My dad has a lightweight bow he is giving my son for next year
I went a couple of times during archery this year but didn't see anything and missed muzzleloading season completely. I haven't shot a deer with an arrow in about five years, definitely a bigger challenge than just using a rifle but I'm mainly a meat hunter.

17. This is a joke I hope,
Im a vegetarian Buddhist who does not even kill bugs, believe me we have a lot more pressing issues than legislating what rude people do in public.

18. While I have seen it and know many avid hunters, I find it distasteful.
Put your dead deer in places where those who don't care to see a dead carcass can't see it. It isn't rocket science. If you live in the country where there are no houses around, hang it in your front yard if it floats your boat, but if you live in a populated neighborhood, use common courtesy and put it elsewhere. Simple really.

24. Alternate poll: Should it be legal to fill a hanging deer with buckshot?
After all, clams often have sand in them and break teeth

27. When has
displaying conscious or unconscious insensitivity and brutality against animals been illegal? Much less being held accountable for insensitivity towards kind, peaceful vegetarians or people of compassionate faith?

where else might you be able to bleed them out?
