Republican quicksand. How can you deal with a party that has no bottom?

When Bush was close to being out, I sighed a breath of relief. "Whew! glad that's over. They could never come up with anyone as bad as that." But I was wrong - they came up with Sarah Palin.

They keep in office without any shame whatsoever Senators who have been diapered by prostitutes, Governors who have deserted office for their affairs, and Vice Presidents who have a memory loss that rivals that of the most extreme Alzheimer's patient. These same people will lecture the rest of us about morality and "values" and "principles" all day long with a straight face. Our media will cover these same people as though their opinions are worth the light of day without irony.

no one could possibly guess the depths to which they would go. Lying to congress, forging letters, bribing congress, illegal use of funds in Iraq, eavesdropping on Americans, outing CUA agents, war for oil. Rove lying his ass off at every opportunity. Vote recount "protestors" who actually were GOP operatives. Caging of thousands of voters. Who could believe it?

4. And I think this is why Nazi Germany happened. Moral people simply could not comprehend

and believe what was happening around them. It can't be true. It can't be true. But it was.

Naivete and Pollyannaism as a cause of death. It COULD happen here.
