Palin made a special little side trip to give Billy Graham a thrill (ha ha)...then went to Fort Bragg today to do a book signing. And it is ALL the local news on all local stations....disgusting.

"she is riding a wave of popularity" - according to the slobbering local newsidiots.

cue the interviews of the clueless -

"she is a model of morality"
"she sets a standard for all modern women"
"they should have taken the muzzle off her during the campaign - we would have a different president"

My wife and I are just ill watching this, wondering what sort of insanity has spread. Our view is that the media is helping to create this monster. It is something to behold, that's for sure.

It is as if you went to the hospital for surgery, had the best specialist to do the operation - but your family decided to let the latest American Idol winner operate instead, because they were the most shiny new object around and the media was pushing them down their throats.

Well, not a great analogy, but I feel like I am losing my mind!

It is Seinfeld Bizarro world, happening right here in front of us!

1. The M$M is creating yet another self-fulfilling prophecy.
You don't have to wonder what side they're on!

2. In palin they have finally found someone even more vacant & meaningless than reagan.
That in itself was quite a feat. Now, let's see if they can keep this going until 2012 charleeee

3. The good part is, it's not quite like that.
More like some members of your family WANTED to let the latest American Idol winner operate instead, because they were the most shiny new object around and the media was pushing them down their throats--but cooler heads prevailed and chose one of the best surgeons in the country, and he did the first of several surgeries on you and you're in the process of healing but will need more surgery, and the stupid members of your family are complaining because you're not out of bed yet dancing a jig, and saying that the rest of your surgery should be done by the American Idol winner because she would have been the wiser choice!

So couldn't do it properly.

Seriously, it is hard to put into words how pissed off and disgusted I am at Palin, Teabaggers, Republicans, the media...not good for me to be this worked up.

4. I'm so sorry.
I guess we can all thank John McCain for this. Alaska was just starting to wise up to SP the spring and summer of 2008 -- i.e., Troopergate was in full swing -- when McCain "plucked her from obscurity," and forced her down the throats of the rest of you. There's a good chance we could have taken her down without his interference.

It's kind of funny that she hasn't given any interviews up here since last Thanksgiving -- the turkey debacle (for which she blames the unnamed cameraman in her book). Literally, our Channel 2 sports announcer just caught up with her somewhere on the road when he was outside covering some sporting event, and she deigned to give him a few minutes of her precious time which will be aired locally here to her breathless fans (all 10 of them) this week. I will be tuning out at that point.

I really am sorry.

5. I turned off the TV long ago.. My blood pressure just wouldn't handle it..
When I found myself shouting at the TV on a regular basis I realized it was time to pull the plug.

You'd be amazed at how stupid almost all TV seems after you've been away from regular exposure for a while.

And the "news" shows are just about the worst.

7. YES! We've gotten rid of all but basic cable, so just watch a bit of local news at night -
plus PBS newshour. But we can't even take that anymore!

And we feel pretty much anything on network TV is utter garbage. We do like some of the HBO series (Treatment, Six Feet Under, etc) - but wait for them to come out on Netflix.

8. Be Kind to your Mind
and turn off your TV... it's the only way to fight back. She's on TV, because she has good marketing people. Sometimes I think the pro PR people test their power with these things, like a child tests their limits. They think, "can I sell this? Let's try it out." If it works, they'll try to sell you something even more over the edge next time.

9. When will she start selling her feces?
I'll bet it has that tangy je ne sais quoi gamey flavor of the wild woods, river trout, and seasoned moose. She should can it under the Rogue brand. I'll bet it would sell like hotcakes at teabag parties.

11. She'll be in my town tomorrow
and people were already lining up at the mall THIS morning! I refuse to watch the local news until she's gone.

I really worry that she could get elected in 2012. I never thought "W" would be reelected and look what happened. I don't think Palin should be taken so lightly. She's a joke, but we've had "jokes" for presidents before. (See above sentence.) :grr:

and think all she does is open her mouth and says nothing. I don't get it. Maybe she will slip up then show the real idiot she is.

14. I'm Contacting Pentagon to Demand Explanation
How is it that a partisan hack non-veteran and open critic of the Commander in Chief is even ALLOWED on a restricted military base?
As a veteran I am outraged and am not going to let this go.
Maybe by the time I get answers I will be allowed to post.
