"Fox News Threatens Pink Slips For On-Screen Errors" by Rachel Slajda (TPM)
"After a rash of mistakes and apologies over the past weeks, Fox News has sent a memo to employees announcing a new "zero tolerance" policy for on-screen errors."

Keep those pencils, notepads, and phone numbers handy, folks; if this is true, we can help Faux Spews stagger right into the dustbin of history by attrition alone.

:woohoo:

3. "Fox News Threatens Pink Slips For On-Screen Errors"...
that are not subtle enough to be unnoticed by the rest of the "liberal media."

4. They are probably looking for an excuse to reduce staffing
It sounds like a case where they want to cutback on the number of employees, and they are providing a "zero tolerance" policy that makes it easy to fire them.

5. Sounds like CYA to me. It takes a lot of work from more than one person
to get a graphic up on your screen or some archival footage.

7. Don't forget...only LITTLE people make on-screen errors
I think we're talking about Producers and Assistants, not important talent.

Although, an error's an error. Maybe if Glenn or Sean or Bill says something pointedly false, someone could contact management and ask if an "on-screen error" has occure.

10. My thought exactly.
Make it clear that you place the ultimate blame for errors on those who get the big bucks and fame from spouting them, not the production crews.

9. It's more a zero tolerance policy for getting caught, IMO
That means people who can stomach watching that cesspool of a station are going to have to be on their toes even more.

Their two crowd scene fakeouts were clumsy enough that even I knew what they'd done.

16. And of course, after the memo is "distributed", Roger Ailes will wink to his sockpuppets.
Nothing will change.

Those who said Obama made a mistake by making Fox the issue should be apologizing.

The LA Times even ran with this story this weekend ridiculing Fox.

Making Fox the issue is the best thing we can do.

20. From what the "Zero-Tolerance Memo" said.....
...it sounds to me that someone pissed-off Sarah and that's what precipitated this:

Subject: Quality Control We had a mistake on Newsroom today when a wrong book cover went on screen during a guest segment, the kind of thing that can fall through the cracks on any day with any story given the large amount of elements and editorial we run through our broadcasts. Unfortunately, it is the latest in a series of mistakes on FNC in recent months.

- So the moral to this story is, it's one thing to screw-over Democrats, but not our 2012 Queen......
