UPS 2010 Rate Change Information (increases increases increases)

UPS 2010 Rate Change Information (increases increases increases)
UPS small package Daily and Retail rates will change as follows*:

UPS Ground service will increase 4.9%.
UPS Air and International Services will increase a net 4.9% through a combination of a 6.9% increase in the base rate and a 2% reduction in the Air and International Services fuel surcharge.


The following changes will be made to small package surcharges and accessorises:


The Additional Handling Charge will increase $0.50.
The Address Correction charge for UPS Ground Services will increase $2.00.* The Address Correction charge for UPS Air Services will increase $1.00.*
C.O.D (Collect on Delivery) will increase $1.00.
Delivery Area Surcharges for commercial and residential addresses will increase $0.10. The Extended Delivery Area Surcharges will increase $0.10. The Delivery Area Surcharge for UPS Hundredweight Services® will increase $0.50.*
The Daily Rate charge for Declared Value will increase $0.05 per $100 of Declared Value with a minimum charge of $2.10.
Delivery Intercept will increase $1.00.*
The charges for Delivery Confirmation*, Delivery Confirmation - Signature Required and Delivery Confirmation - Adult Signature Required will increase $0.25.
The Daily Rate for Extended Area Surcharge will increase $2.00 per shipment or $0.02 per pound, whichever is greater. The Retail Rate for Extended Area Surcharge will increase $1.50 per shipment with no change to the per pound rate.
The Hazardous Materials charge applied to UPS Ground and Air Services will increase $2.50.
The Large Package Surcharge will increase $5.00.* The fee, as well as a 90 pound minimum billable weight, will be applied to all services worldwide.
The UPS On-Call Pickup® charges will no longer be assessed on each package picked up. Instead, the On-Call Pickup charge will be applied once per pickup request regardless of the number of packages. The charge will be $6.00 for a Same Day request and $5.00 for a Future Day request. If the On-Call Pickup occurs at a residence, a residential surcharge will apply as well as a pickup area surcharge, if located at a residence within designated ZIP Codes. (See the Area Surcharge Listing for a list of applicable ZIP Codes).
The Residential Surcharge applied to Air Services will increase $0.10*. The Residential Surcharge applied to Ground Services will increase $0.15.* The Hundredweight Residential Surcharge will increase $1.00.
The charge for Return Services – 1 Attempt and 3 Attempts will increase $1.00.
The minimum billable weight for UPS Air Hundredweight Services will change. Refer to the Hundredweight published materials for more information.
The Weekly Service charge for Daily Pickup service will be $10.00 per week if the weekly billing total is $75 or greater. If the weekly billing total is less than $75 the charge for Daily Pickup service will be $20 per week. In 2010, UPS is introducing new pickup options that provide reliability and flexibility to meet your needs.
