Have conservatives found their new Ronald Reagun in Palin??
Its just amazing how much attention all the rightwing talking heads are giving Sarah Palin as they look to see if she is the reincarnated version of Ronnie Raygun they are so desperately trying to find again..

I even heard O"liely claim there is a ground sweell of support building in this country for conservatism around Palin(I about threw up too)..

2. She has the same "appeal" as RR: She makes them feel good about themselves.

Nothing more than Madison Avenue selling of a product. She can't deliver on her promotion. But they don't care. They feel good about themselves when she talks, walks, and winks. Just because Clare Boothe Luce got away with it 60 years ago, doesn't mean Palin can pull it off.

She's put the cause of women's rights on hold, if not backward, with her rage for fame.

3. That would be the Reagan that...
raised taxes when the deficit got too big...

"cut and ran" from Lebanon...

didn't pass any laws to outlaw abortion...?

I'm not sure Palin wants to be associated with a commie liberal like him...

9. Later believed in engaging with the Soviet Premier rather than re-starting the Cold War again.
Hawkish Repubs didn't like that about him. Granted, his foreign and economic . . . and really everything ABOUT him still sucked, but there were things he did that even pissed off the TeaBirthers of the time.

4. I think they're grasping at straws on this one. Even my extreme RW
relatives this she's an idiot! You
re seeing what looks like A LOT of people at her book signings and speeches, but I suspect the ones you see are almost all there is! even if you're talking about 100,000 total, that's not near enough to win a national election!

8. Yes, the Cult of Sarah grows.
Clasic cult of personality, like Reagan's personality cult. But Reagan had a broad popular appeal that went beyond his own cult or personality. I've yet to see Sarah's appeal grow beyound a very vocal far right and right libertarian movement.

10. SEE
comparing Palin to Reagan. How dumb can republicans be. Reagan wasn't the brightest bulb in the room, but he could join Mensa compared to Palin's intelligence.

11. I don't know. Reagan said catsup was a vegetable.
And didn't he say trees were responsible for air pollution or was that some other right wing genius?

12. See, that you believe that is testament to the efficacy of The Big Lie Machine.

Raygun was a genuinely stupid man and any/everybody that worked with him realized it immediately. Monumentally stupid, uninterested, and disengaged, his only asset was understanding camera angles and his ability to deliver his lines.

The original poster boy for failing upward.

ETA; Mooselini has boobs as her asset.

14. Palin is no Reagan. Reagan had respect. Palin comes off as
an entertainment celebrity. In other words Reagan had
Gravitas. Palin comes off as shallow.
