Calling for the death of for profit health insurance companies
In affirmation of the efforts of the Constitution of these United States to establish justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, we the citizens of the United States of America, do declare that human life is a gift that is sacred, unique, and worthy of protection. We recognize that each natural born person has a special place and purpose in this world. We also underscore our dedication to heeding this message by speaking up for the weak and voiceless among us.


In order to further and promote the sanctity of life of each natural born human, we the citizens of the United States of America call for the dissolution and death of for profit health insurance companies. In as much as the citizens of this nation have allowed the benefit of charters of incorporation to said companies, we the citizens hereby call for the revocation of the charters of incorporation on the grounds that these companies have caused grave damage to the United States of America and its citizens.


For and in recognition of actions by for profit health insurance companies to take money under the false pretense of providing for health care in time of need, to collude to rob the citizens of these United States of the fruits of their labor with no regard to actual and real health of the citizens or the economy, and to enrich only themselves while leaving the citizens enslaved to corporate power.


In order to re-establish the health of our citizenry by promoting a just system of providing health care, freeing the stranglehold on our economy by these entities and to preserve and promote our preeminent right to self-governance, we the citizens call for the death of for profit health insurance companies by revoking their charters of incorporation and not allowing such entities to exist in these United States now and in the future.

6. It's what I told my Blue Dog Dem congressman.
For profit health insurance adds NOTHING to the system except profits for the shareholders of the respective company's.

I have nothing against organizations providing services for profit but they provide no service.

7. Most countries have it written into their laws that private insurance
companies cannot offer the same coverage that their national health care plans cover. They can insure for other things not covered by NHC. I like your amendment, if that is what it is, but how do we get it into the Constitution? I do think we should try.

The health insurance industry only enriches the greedy.

The failure to enact meaningful health care reform should be a wake up call to all Americans. It should wake us up to the reality that we live under corporate rule and serious action needs to be taken to restore our representative government.

To create the infrastructure for single payer - it would make the transition much easier for the "worker bees". Although personally, I think CIGNA should be seized under RICO statutes, as a criminal enterrprise.

Stand up for what's right.
Cancel your insurance policy today.
When you cut off their profits, they lose their power.

Tell your employer you want out of the policy. They should be happy to oblige as it will save them at least $500 a month for every person who wants out.

It's taking your life into your own hands. Then again, do you really think they're going to be there when you need them the most?

The profit motive needs to be taken out of the health care process since they're often at odds with each other. The bottom line for insurance companies shouldn't be the deciding factor whether or not someone gets needed care. Have seen this first hand and it sucks! :(

I hadn't thought about it like this, but you're absolutely correct. For-profit health insurance companies have certainly made my wife's life a living hell for the past year. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing them disappear into oblivian.
