2. A very good cause!
My very first employer out of nursing school and still an employer I remember as being pro-nurse.

I love this guy!

3. St. Jude does wonderful work
that seems like a great fit for him! When I go for check ups at Dana Farber I sometimes see some of the kids. They are very happy and the staff is amazing. Dana Farber is constructing a new building and they wrote the kids names in bright spray paint on the steel so they could see it. The crane they were using had Sponge Bob on it. Its one hell of a place to have to be but there is a lot of love surrounding those kids!

4. I saw that last night. Very, very classy.
He could easily have sold out and retired on a book deal, but he opted instead to use his famous heroism for one of the most noble causes of all.

Bravo, Captain Sullernberger.

5. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
I was at NAS Memphis, years and years ago, for my avionics "A" schools. I remember getting liberty in exchange for giving blood for St. Jude's. They called it "vampire liberty."

Boy, that was a long time ago.

6. He seems like a very good man!
My nephew had cancer (just cleared 5 years) when he was 18 months old, and was treated at St. Jude in Tennessee. It is for them that he is alive today.

8. St. Jude was founded by another celebrity -- Danny Thomas

That's his daughter, Marlo Thomas. She's been married to Phil Donahue now for 29 years.

In our house we weren’t allowed to take phone calls during dinner; but my father was allowed to break that rule if a call came in from St. Jude. And I’ll never forget when he came back to the table, he’d sometimes have tears in his eyes, because a little boy named David “didn’t make it.” Or he’d be beaming, because a little girl named Amy was “going home at last” … —Marlo Thomas
