Bullets, threat found at Fort Benning

FORT BENNING, Ga., Nov. 21 (UPI) -- A box of hollow-point bullets and a note threatening a Fort Hood-style massacre were found at Fort Benning, Ga., a source told the Army Times.

The unidentified source said the box, with 20 bullets, and a handwritten note were found in a motor pool area on the Army base Thursday, the Times reported Saturday.

"The note said, 'Tell the commanding general to call off all charges or there will be a re-enactment of Fort Hood,'" the witness told the newspaper.

The military has charged Army psychiatrist Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan with 13 counts of premeditated murder in the Nov. 5 massacre at Fort Hood, Texas. The shooting rampage injured dozens more.

Elsie Jackson, a spokeswoman for Fort Benning, would confirm only the finding of a "suspicious package" and a threatening letter. She said "appropriate force protection measures are in place" while authorities investigate.

I don't think a genuine copycat in actual sympathy with Maj. Imnotfuckinggoing could expect to evade detection for more than 12 hrs. He'd be detained before he could act. I suspect it's a false flag from an Islamophobe wingnutter.

5. The "all charges" statement doesn't specify anything about Maj. Hassan

I figured the newspaper just put it in there to create more intrigue. I figured maybe someone was being held somewhere, charged with something - there are a lot of young men who get in trouble in the military.

I can't imagine anyone would be so stupid as to think any charges of significance would be dropped for any reason. This is the army, after all.
