.... Trouble was, nobody was buying them.

12. Not to mention the conservative book clubs
The ones that give away Ann Coulter books by the thousands and bill her as a "bestselling author", even though she only sells to them and to our evil socialist library system.

4. Even if it was,
a lot of organizations bought it in bulk. That's what nobody says when numbers about her book are cited.

Haley Barbour contacted her about getting copies for the Republican Governors' meeting. He got them at cost. He should have ordered them from Amazon for $9. Did he think she would give them anything for free???

6. Hype...It's What The Corporate Media Eats For Breakfast...
The only possible link is the one from the publisher's publicist to the network's producer who wrote that into the script. Why bother to investigate when a press release or wire story will do. And it also plays into the week's meme...this strange love/hate fascination with Palin. Depending on the show, MSNBC is either cheering on Palinpalooza or ridiculing it...in essence it's become the network's bright shiny toy. Add the element that book tours are large PR pushes that are always working to generate buzz, the corporate media plays along as they are all part and parcel of the same animal.

10. I remember when Muhammed Ali came to my local bookstore for a signing
I'm sure his crowds were at least as big as Palin's (the line stretched from one end of the mall to the other twice over), yet he wasn't plastered all over the national media, because he wasn't flavor of the month, though his legacy will be far more enduring.

8. I think that what they meant to say was:
M$NBC has sold out the people in order to promote someone way past her 15 minutes of fame.

The "Failin Palin White Trash Express" was in PA yesterday.
Hopefully, she won't come any closer to here.

14. Did they possibly mean the original production lot has been sold/distributed?
So now the book will have to go in to reprint?

15. If anyone who was left out would like to know, our local used
bookstore has about 20 copies. (They have some new books too.) I commented to a clerk about the books, guess what? They have not sold any, $14.95, a bargain.

In a couple of weeks the book will be on the regular shelves. $2.99 for hardbacks. Wait a little longer, $1.00 at Dollar Tree.

Personally, I think at a dollar a book, I'll buy a cord of then. Make good firewood.

21. There was an entire endcap full of them at Woodinville, WA Costco on Saturday
I didn't see one person pick the book up or even look at it, and I spend a lot of time in the book aisle every time we visit Costco.

So, who's M$NBC shilling for, huh? LOL

:eyes:
