5. No, it's not you.
Been a long time since I've found SNL even remotely funny. And I'm a viewer from the beginning.

8. They need to push the envelope like Mad TV does. It seems the writers are afraid to be politically
incorrect and borderline offensive.

Mad TV never had problems with that.

Weekend Update made up for the entire show. Hilarious! Sad to say,Weekend Update is the shortest segment on SNL these days.I'm gonna have to start tuning in at midnight to just watch WU

11. SNL seems very anti-Obama to me.
a number of the opening skits endlessly bash him as a do-nothing president.

I've wondered about their politics for years.

16. He's the President
Every President gets that treatment. For God's sake did you ever see the Will Ferrel skits on Bush, one of them had him playing with a yarn ball like he was a cat, another one had his father thinking about killing him when they were hunting.

They have consistently beat up on every President since the show started. Chevy Chase gave Gerald Ford the reputation as a clumsy fool even though he played college football and was pretty athletic for his age. They were absolutely brutal on Carter and on Raygun. George H.W. Bush used to get the shit kicked out of him on that show, and they still beat up on Bill Clinton.

It is a comedy, if you are a person in power, they are going to mock the fuck out of you.

17. Not sure about SNL
but Joesph Gorgon-Levitt was not a fan of bush and is of Obama. I went to IMDB and found these two quotes from him.

"At the heart of the movie, to me, is there's these two characters that can have one horrible, traumatic experience but react to it in opposite ways and it shows how different people see things differently. Well, today, there's a president in my country that doesn't understand that and he thinks that if you don't see it exactly his way, you're wrong and evil. And that's not the way the world works. There can be one event but everybody who sees it sees it a little different or sees it a lot different and that's what the movies about and that's what damn "Dubya" needs to understand. Or let him not understand it and go about his ways and go back to his ranch and never bother us again. (about Mysterious Skin (2004))."

"The traditional Hollywood sentiment is contempt for the audience. I've heard executives say, 'Audiences are stupid, kids are stupid,' but that's not going to fly anymore. I think Obama is great evidence of that. This is maybe a sort of pretentious parallel to draw, but it's the same with how love stories are told in movies. 500 Days of Summer wouldn't have made sense in our parents' generation. It reminds me so much of 2009."

23. If you think that, I'll bet you also think DU is anti-Obama, too.
Presidents get bashed on teevee comedy shows. That's part of what teevee comedy shows do. Political humor. It is a long standing tradition. I've seen it happen a lot. Honest. Even repubicans get bashed.

14. I agree with you.
For me one of the best moment of the show was at the end when Joesph Gordon-Levitt hugged Gore and told him what he meant to him. I loved Levitt in 'the Lookout'. That movie tore me apart.

Also the take off of (was it) "Say anything" was pretty funny.

18. Skit Went On Too Long -
I lost interest and vacuumed the floor until it was over, didn't find it funny. I've had enough Obama bashing this week to last a lifetime. Not to mention the news prior to SNL covered the asshole in Wheatridge who put up the Jihad billboard and heard several messages on the owner's message machine, where people were either calling him a racist, or a hero.
Claims he voted for Alan Keyes and is married to a Hispanic woman, so he is exempt from being a racist and is just your everyday, ordinary birther idiot.
A woman on the verge of tears holding a sign outside urging a boycott had some men throw panels of wood or something at her, and at least they were arrested.

Palin 2012 was funny though.

20. My ex husband is Latino
and he is prejudice to the max. It is hard to call him a racist because he holds no power over anyone and he is covert in his actions.

Someone should ask this guys wife's family if he is a racist and if he treats his wife as an equal. And voting for Alan Keyes proves nothing except a low IQ.
