:nuke:

He's such a fucking liar.

He's comparing people with lots of money and good medical preventive access to people on Medicaid as though he were really comparing people with NO medical acces vs. people on Medicaid. TOTAL FUCKING LIAR.

The truth is that Medicaid is better than NO health care.

:nuke:

1. Bull crap! It seems most of the kids in IL have medicaid. From my experience
as a pediatric home health nurse and as a pediatric hospice nurse, public aid often covers more than insurance does. We are lucky here that all kids can get public aid. (Tho I have to admit in the past few years public aid has gotten stingier.)

6. the problem out here is finding specialist doctors.
my niece had to take her daughter a hundred miles to see a specialist. we have the specialist`s here but they won`t take scip(spelling?) rockford is another city many have to travel to.

the state is around a year behind in payments to doctors and other social services. the state owes the place my wife works at around 5 million dollars. if the budget is`t passed in jan. they may lose millions more.

4. Not to quibble but I think he was explaining that not having Medicaid
could lead to deaths.

The states are under financial pressures and they are cutting
Medicaid right and left. People are losing services because the
states say they cannot pay for the care. Denying care.

In the HCR there is a provision for returning Federal Responsiblity
to the State. ( No money to state to assist with Medicaid) Congress
increased the income level at which people can be covered by Medicaid
(People who earn 30 K family with children)

I believe he was say with the states already cutting services
and the Fed Gov. cutting future funding and adding more and more
to Medicaid roles creates situation where people can die.

5. another republican suffering from mental retardation....
medicaid is a state run healthcare system that is`t funded to the level it should be.

medicare is the federally run healthcare system

medicaid in illinois is a disaster because of the funding and restrictions. but people do get care that otherwise would`t

7. Trying to remain alive
until I'm old enough to get "just plain Medicare". Medicaid is a death sentence with lots of phone calls, begging & pleading, pain and disappointment.

11. Didn't realize that:
"medicaid is a state run healthcare system that is`t funded to the level it should be." That explains some of the benefits I have heard of for the poor here in Okla.. Do States get extra dollars from the Fed. Govt. to go towards Medicaid?

9. The eastern part of TN is still fighting
"The War between the States" and that is how Corker got in. There are so many Republicans in East TN you can't stir them with a stick.

10. Most old people have Medicaid. So lots of old people with Medicaid are dying.
Edited on Sat Nov-21-09 05:11 PM by gristy
People without medicaid are dying too, but of course not as many, since they aren't old!

So he's right!!

on edit: oops. I am confusing Medicaid with Medicare. Nevermind....
