How would you interpret this sentence in a LTTE?

If I didn’t love this God-given country so much, I would wish a full Space/Obama term on those of you who voted on feelings instead of facts.

2. I think the author would like to see Space run for President with Obama as a running mate
Just to punish those who voted for Obama.

3. Well...
How about: "The policies advocated by Space and Obama appeal only to those who respond to emotion rather than facts. Following them would be disastrous for the nation. I would wish for this disaster to show Obama supporters that I am right, but that would damage the God-given country that I love, so I will in fact not wish for a disaster."

This noble sentiment is marred only by the facts that (a) it is conservatives, not liberals, who rely on emotion instead of fact (ever watch Glenn Beck? Rachel Maddow?); (b) conservative policies on Iraq, financial regulation, and other matters have brought America to its knees, and Obama is trying to clean up the mess left by right-wingers; (c) the notion that America is "God-given" is at best debatable and at worst silly and stupid; and (d) you will too wish for a disaster, you jerk - you hate Obama so much you don't care what happens to America as long as he is brought down.

That's how I interpret the sentence, anyway.

:)

4. Thanks
I've gone face to face with this teabag over health care and over a racist remark he made. I wanted to know if anyone thought it was a veiled threat. You talked me down.

6. Most of Us Vote Based on Emotion
Whether we like to admit it or not, most of us are not rational voters and do not decide which candidate to support based on logic. It doesn't matter whether you are Liberal or Conservative. We each have a certain world view shaped by a variety of factors and accept the truths that support our view while rejecting those that clash. That world view is partly based on reason, but not entirely.

The most irrational of all are the swing voters. Their world view is kind of mushy. If things are going well around election time they keep the incumbents, if not, they vote for the others. Really? Is their attention span that short? Do they think the actions of elected officials only have immediate consequences? They say they look at the candidate and their positions. Does that mean their views on reproductive rights, taxation and national defense change every two years? Looking at the candidate as an individual is admitting that they are turning elections into popularity contests (just like in high school).

9. seesm to me that the Space/Obama word
means that he takes the TV series V seriously somehow, either as reality, or as a strong parallel.

10. First of all: Is the teabag not-wishing a full Space/Obama term BECAUSE he FEELS so strongly for
"this God-given country"???

If the teabag values "facts" sooooooo much, here's one: In "giving" "us" this country, "God" did some TRULY HORRIFYING things to this land's Indigenous Peoples. Are we supposed to have no or less feelings about Genocide?

Aside from contradicting himself on the matter of the relationship between "facts" and "feelings", if it's justifiable to FEEL Love for what one characterizes as "this God-given country", why is it not also, therefore, justifiable to feel Hate for truths that are IN FACT Hateful?

You don't have to answer that question, because I already know the answer: Love? Hate? It depends upon who you are and what you and yours got out of the deal. It depends upon money, property, status, and opportunity, i.e. "WEALTH" - Teabag facts are what you FEEL is Real because there is a BENEFIT a payoff to you in doing so. The teabag "God" is the great payroll clerk in the sky - - - NOT a "God" of that which is true for Truth's own sake. Therefore, the teabag "God" is a FALSE God.
