Cafe Press decides (again) to dump 109 Psalms stuff
just found this in my mailbox. Good work, guys!

http://blog.cafepress.com/

This morning we made the decision to remove all Psalms 109:8 designs from CafePress.

The public debate started with questioning if the design was simply intended to be criticism of the President or something much worse. The discourse was surprisingly civil online, given the heated nature of the topic. Given that, and the positions of groups like the ACLU and the Anti-Defamation League, we decided to let the dialogue play out publicly before making a final decision.

Last night we posted a poll on our blog, read through the emails we’ve received and weighed the nature of the calls we’ve received on the topic. In the process we also learned that many of the original designers of the Psalm 109:8 designs had already decided to remove them on their own.

(in my opinion, they shouldn't have waited so long.....)

3. Yup, probably had too many buyers & sellers walking out the door
& going to places like Zazzle. You snooze, you lose.

Why don't you report it to them instead of whining about it here?

4. I'm still not going back to their website - EVER!
They showed their ass by reversing their decision to remove that hateful merchandise, and no amount of apologizing can convince me to ever return.

6. Afraid of being sued
or being shut down by the FCC, ICC, etc. Free speech, no matter how bad, seems to be on the wane.

10. Oh FFS.
"Free speech" is about GOVERNMENT regulation/restriction/oppression of speech. It has nothing to do with this. Obama didn't order the site shut down--they made the decision to shut down based on fear that they might lose customers, nothing more.

And for the record, there is NO "free speech" right to threaten the President's life.

11. I award them no points...
When I closed my account, I knew it was likely that they would reverse themselves again.

So it took an on-line poll to change their minds? Good grief, when was that ever a substitute for sane judgement?
