I understand some at DU would answers that question by saying that it is completely obvious that new advisors and staff are needed in the Obama Administration. However, I decided to ask the question after reading two articles concerning what seems to be improper or inaccurate reporting of job creation linked to the Stimulus Bill. Some of the misreporting seems to be based on bad or lazy staff. In response to criticism about mistakes found at recovery.gov the spokewoman for the Stimulus Bill made this comment, The recovery website "allows people to find any mistakes, as it should — which will help us correct them promptly." I may be wrong about this, but it seems to me that when you are an administration trying to tout job creation while at the same time your political opponents are trying to find any excuse to criticize you, you do not have the ability to allow others to find your mistakes. Staffers at recovery.gov need to check all job creation reports before they are posted on the website and clear all obvious mistakes before the reports are uploaded to the website. Otherwise mistakes are found and that makes the Obama Administration look bad.
It just seems to me that Obama needs new and better advisors and staff. Some of the things that are happening in his administration should not be happening. On too many occasions his advisors and staff seem to allow the president to look as if he is uninformed. On other occasions they allow the administration look bad, which allows critics to unduly call into question the policies of the administration. I am not saying that all of the Obama Administration policies are great, but it is possible that some policies wil get more criticism than they deserve due to too many mistakes being made aside from the policies. Some of the mistakes that are being made should not be made, at least not at that level of government.
