4. done!
As of now, 83% say "Overly infamatory and inappropriate"

They must have received lots of complaints - here is mine:

The "Obama Psalm 109:8" products are back on your CafePress website -WHY?
There are radical so-called "Christain" pastors who avow:
Psalm 109:8 has to be seen in context with Psalm 109:9, which reads:
“Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.”
Google this fact and SEE statements and videos of these statements from clergy!

I think that cafepress should have taken the high road and opted to protect the President rather than taking the low road and thinking of their profits.
Shame on you. I will NEVER do business with Cafe Press again, and I am alerting all of my contacts.
This is NOT a partisan issue, and if this sort of product appeared during President Bush's term, I would be equally outraged.

6. They are very disingenuous
They quote one part of the verse

Let his days be few; Let another take his office

and ignore the next verse:

May his children be orphans and his wife a widow"

12. Cowards! They know it is wrong
if it was okey dokey why wouldn't they print the next verse? They have to be aware of it after all the complaints. The very absence of that part shows that they know it is unacceptable.

19. The comment CP has (so far) refused to approve
Two comments, posted after mine, have already been approved -- but mine is apparently still in "moderation":

CP, you know me — Lavender Liberal — and you know what a nice, healthy income I made (for both of us), primarily through my anti-Bush designs. But never — NEVER — did I come near crossing the line these Psalm 109:8 people have crossed.

What stuns me is that CP appears to be so oblivious to the real message here. As former (and reformed) professional evangelical Frank Schaeffer put it a couple of days ago, the Radical Religious Right is “trawling for assassins.” And you, CP, are complicit in this latest “recruitment” effort.

It also appears CP has a very short memory. Does no one recall the uproar over the “Kill Bush” T-shirts in 2005? Does no one recall that CP quickly pulled those T-shirts as soon as there was a complaint?

CP did the right thing with the “Kill Bush” shirts. I hope it does the right thing with these not-so-veiled death threats to President Obama.

I suspect, however, that CP is making too much money, and enjoying the publicity, to do the right thing. I hope I’m wrong. Please _prove_ me wrong.

For the record, I am no fan of Barack Obama, by any stretch of the imagination.

And, for the record, I no longer maintain shops at CP (and have not since the 10% commission fix was implemented). So, frankly, I really shouldn’t care if CP gets into a lot of hot water over this, or (as I’ve heard) becomes the target of a very large boycott. But coming here and speaking up is the right thing to do. In other words, I’m not trying to save CP’s butt, or my own. I just want CP to cease fueling the fire of hatred and sheer insanity that has taken over this country.

20. FWIW, just received an email...
...from someone at CP with whom I've had a good relationship; in part:
Haven’t talked to you in awhile, but I’m not pushing your comment because it implies that we’re not pulling the shirts. We have pulled the shirts and will continue to do so – we’re going as fast and efficiently as we can. We are by far the largest POD out there, and therefore have a lot more content.

None of this had anything to do with profit or publicity, incidentally. It had to do with the First Amendment.
I replied that I was glad they were pulling the design once and for all -- but I didn't think the First Amendment argument was going to fly, as CP is no more bound by the 1st than any other private company/Web site.

(Yes, I was thinking of DU -- and the cries of "censorship" from wingnut trolls -- when I wrote that. LOL)
