Army protects Palin from terrorist threat known as "media coverage of her book signing event"

Army Keeping Media From Palin Event

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/11/19/army-keeping-media-from-p_n_364248.html

RALEIGH, N.C. — The U.S. Army will allow the media limited coverage of Sarah Palin's appearance at Fort Bragg, but will bar reporters from interviewing her or her supporters on the post, officials said Thursday.

A Fort Bragg spokesman initially said the Army would ban the media from Palin's book signing next week, fearing it would turn into political grandstanding against President Barack Obama. After The Associated Press and The Fayetteville Observer protested, Col. Billy Buckner said the post would permit restricted access.

A small pool of reporters will be allowed to view and document the event but will be barred from the interviews. The public will be allowed.

Buckner said the setup will allow reporters their right to access while preventing the appearance from turning political – something that officials believe would violate policy.

"If media are present, they can capture the imagery of what's going and sort of the ambiance of what's taking place," he said.

2. True, but with a story about lack of media coverage...
...she gets media coverage, so maybe everyone...the military, the families, the general public...would have been better served by keeping her out.

5. your taxdollars are being used to support this, if you want to register a complaint
Edited on Thu Nov-19-09 11:33 PM by HipChick
Army regulations forbid 'political events'

I dont want my tax dollars being used for her to profit - remember she doesn't want government..

I called Ft. Bragg to complain ... 910-907-5290

1. Palin told Shannity that the USA should "PROFILE" Muslims in the Military.

2. She has made disparaging remarks about the Commander In Chief

3. Since when does the military let politicians "promote themselves" on bases?

Ft. Bragg: 910-907-5290

Please be courteous..

18. Yes! A highly political individual who holds no office at present? On fed. gov't property?
I have no memory or knowledge of anything like this being done before. A book-signing (?) on federal government property? By a controversial political aspirant?

Someone needs to knock some heads together, fast! :grr:

10. No comparison to the Bush-era Military photos, is there?
Aside from the fact that there are MORE SMILES, and the shot goes W-A-Y back (instead of a tight shot of a couple of bored-looking soldiers and Bush), take a look at how many cameras are in the air.

12. She dissed the President when she was in China also and
using tax payer money for a corporate enterprise's and private citizen's gain especially for political purposes is against military regulations

16. The real question is on what basis is the Grifter in Chief
being allowed to launch her book at military bases? That is the real BS here.

17. Who approved this signing and the one at Fort Hood?
Would they let Michael Moore or someone else do this? Someone is cahooting with certain people in the military who have a suspicious agenda.
