The power of church: mother goes to church leaders with alleged incest worries, not the law

The stories are so bizarre as to make one suspicious about their validity, but this story is still interesting in that church over-rode motherhood. Anything THAT powerful is capable of making ALL kinds of people suppress their own consciences about ALL kinds of things "big" and "small".

1. My grandmother from Ireland consulted the priest on all important
matters. If he said it was okay, then it was okay. Even after she came to this country, she still consulted the priest.....sigh.
