Sometimes I hate Grand Rapids!
You wouldn't believe the media blitz that accompanied that quitting liar yesterday and into this morning. I'm embarrassed to live in the same city as those wackos who camped out to see Palin. It was absolutely horrifying. They were so willfully ignorant it was downright terrifying! It was truly breathtaking.

I had to watch lots of Olbermann and Maddow last night to counteract the horror that is living in the Dutch Mafia-dominated bible belt portion of southwest Michigan.

Although, Kent County (GR's in it) actually voted for Obama last November--the first time a Democrat took the county since Lyndon Johnson in 1964. The margin was about 1%, but we turned it blue!

:toast: :fistbump:

I hope I'll be able to watch the local news tonight...

eek,

Diane

1. Much of Michigan is actually red or very close to it.

2. Hi Di! It's gone from willful ignorance to prideful ignorance, yanno?

That's why it's even more disturbing now than it was for the last 8 years.

Welcome to du!

5. Well, around here (East TN), it's "aggressive ignorance". Pretty scary.

4. "fundie conservative"

Okay, but was s/he a right-winger? Lots of conservatives seek the same results as others. They just support different methods
to accomplish the goal.

6. SArah made her way from Grand Rapids to Ft. Wayne IN and now
she is in Noblesville IN just a few miles north of Indy. Same shit here! The knuckledraggers are out in force here as well. The local media is having an orgasm over Palin's visit to sell her silly book.

We have another prominent Rethuglican here in INdy tonight as well. G HW Bush is right down the street from me at a private fundraiser for a local college or some such thing.
