The Case of the Mysterious Arizona Congressional District 15--Solved By KOS-blogger
Full Link Here.

Going to the secret website (secret as in hidden in plain view) http://www.recovery.gov> and gathering data from that website with the click of a couple of links I discovered that this money went to Kivel Manor which received funds from HUD for senior and assisted living. I guess that is more than could be expected of a legitimate news agency.
And yes it is listed as being in Arizona's 15th district.

Now given that all this information is given, including an address I looked it up and guess what??

It is in Arizona's 15th legislative district.

Mystery solved, someone made a mistake when applying or reporting on the grant. A mistake, yes, probably should not be in there and it is an issue that needs to be addressed (this is not an isolated case there are many errors, unfortunately). But given the fact that this kind of thing is caught is PRECISELY because of the massive amount of transparency that is being given to the public. This is a GOOD THING!!

CNN and ABC News were making bold implications that the White-house was making up the district so they could pretend jobs were being created. AM hate-radio, ran with it as well and hosts like Savage and Limbaugh were calling for impeachment trials to commence immediately.

Oh well, I guess CNN, ABC, etc...will all man up and say that it was an honest mistake, and a typo, and no one was actually ripping off the money right? Right??

1. Biden addressed this on the Daily Show the other day.
it really is a tempest in a teapot, considering there were over 100,000 reporting forms being submitted to recovery.gov.

2. they asked people to report on projects by congressional district
people could easily make a mistake doing so. CA-15, especially if read from a list, could be messed up as AZ-15. also many people who manage these grants are not experts on where congressional districts are and why would they be?

3. I think some that were reporting were using FIPs codes instead of Congressional Districts
so instead of Arizona, someone might be writing down 04 as the state code and 015 as the county code.

as an abstraction, it is almost laughably easy to mess that up --especially since most people don't know FIPs codes any more than they know launch codes.

5. Biden made a joke about that on the Daily Show - he said something like
can you imagine Arizona with more Republicans. I'm from Az and almost fell off the couch from laughter when he said that - so true!

6. Like I said in another post...
It's not about what we know to be true any longer, it's what we think is true via what is feed to us via propaganda.

7. You think you're soooo big!
With your fancy-pants computer skills and looking things up and stuff, and figuring out things that would be apparent to an average 12-year-old. Well you know what, you smart-alec libruls? We're gonna get Sarah Palin nominated, and then you'll be laughing out the other side of your Ph.D. then, boy. And if she doesn't win in 2012, we'll just try again in 2013!
